Is this the one

You should be ok with the 550w PSU, Looking at wattage pulled from a 290 whilst gaming you be pulling around 380w from the mains including the system.

Edit: Thats with a high end socket 2011 system - yours will be lower.

Because I don't know how to? I know everyone on here can and thinks you should never buy pre build but I'd rather not take the risk

There is no risk. Only the truly ham-fisted need to be concerned. PCs aren't difficult to build at all nowadays and providing you do even the smallest amount of research you won't break anything. You'll save money, choose your own components and have something that you've built, which is satisfying

As already said, there are lots of guides out there, you have a whole community of enthusiasts here who will take time to help and make sure you've not only selected the correct gear but will help with putting it together.

TL/DR - Dood! Build your own rig brah!

i cant change the power supply :( what do you mean by socket ?

CPU socket - Haswell uses 1150 (socket 1150) and IvyBridge-E uses 2011 and these tend to be more power hungry than the Haswell range.

But 550w will be fine for your system, you will need a higher PSU if you fancy adding a second card in the future.

(Ah my typing skill are pants today :()

Dood - Disgaea reference? I love the disgaea games.

Let us know when you watch a YouTube video on how to build a computer what you think, a guy called Austin Evans does a really simple one to follow which could be a good start.

I'd never touched a PC before buying my parts, watched about 10h worth of how to videos on youtube and went for it!

Never looked back, so much more value for money and hearing that Post Bleed first time is brilliant.

This 100%

No better feeling, when you turn it on and you know it's all your own work :D

Plenty of people on here to help if required.

before i started looking at prebuilds i did a bit of research and i really dont want to spend that money and be the one that could mess it up i know every one on here builds there own but for now id really rather get a pre build im still struggling with that as i cant make a decision or know what to get never mind putting my own together

If that's what you want that's fine. The £1000 or thereabouts builds on here are good. You will have many many happy hours of gaming on whichever system you choose. My friend bought a pre build and it's as simple as connecting the monitor and keyboard etc then switching it on.

Obviously take your time but there are so many options you could be looking forever. The systems on here will make you happy for spending that amount of moneys! :)

thats exactly my problem i cant make a decision at the best of times iv played with around with the spec and got it too this but dont know if the cooling and psu is enough, what do you think ?
Intel Core i5 4670K @ 4.2GHz Overclocked

Super Flower 550W PSU
Prolimatech CPU Cooler

Is the psu going to hinder performance it's one thing I can't change is it going to be an issue were performance is concerned as I'm not going to be adding another card to it as the 290 I've read is one of the best cards I can get

I've cut out an ssd an out it one the graphics card otherwise I'd be on 280 instead of the 290

The PSU will not hinder performance one bit, but it seems a shame to have a nice system without a SSD.

What res monitor would you be using?

iv not bought it yet its going to be just a 1080p 23 incher i imagine from what iv seen so far iv also just been playing around with another system config and come up with this for slightly more

this is £1150. This is my problem i think iv found a system and some one says change this lol so i do that then the same happens again ha. The SSD is not something i see as important as ill see the benefit in putting the extra money on to a good GPU.

I prefer your original build above - post 34 :)

But as your doing a pre-built some of the options are limited, they not by any means rubbish but you could get something equal or better in performance for less.
