Is this unreasonable?

I have been at college now since the start of the school year and have had exactly 4 records or being late (late = 3 min past start of lesson) and 3 absences. Out of these, 3 of these records, 2 being the absences, happend partly because of tube strikes, a service I have never commuted on in my life.

As a college student I have also handed in homework late on two occasions for the same class.

My dad tells me this morning that if I mess up once more, which is classed as being being recorded late to a lesson or with homework, that he'll remove me from my education.

I know some of you won't like to give a full opinion because some people just don't like to give opinions unless they have all the facts and and know a suitable amount of info to base an assumption on.

But I am asking now, do you think he being unreasonable?

I understand that I'm not the most organized person in the world and that I need to improve but I'm not sure he's going about this the right way. I consistently get As in most of my classes but he's worried I don't put enough effort into school because on one of my reports I got an A Grade with a 4/5 for effort.

Your dad sounds like a idiot.

What would you do if he took you out of college ? sponge from him moar meaning it will cost him more in the long run and destroy any potential career path you have been working towards.

I did my apprenticeship just over 2 years ago. This included 1.5 years of college. I tell you what I had more lates and well just not showing up to lessons than you and I passed my courses with distinctions. Passed my apprenticeship and I am now in a very good job with a good career plan ahead.

Stop crying and get on with it.
Life isn't just about the grade you get at the end of the year, its the commitment you show for all of the time that you should be there.

You would be fired from a job if you kept being late or screwing up projects because of work being handed in late.

No I don't think he's being reasonable. You need to sort yourself out, no doubt, but suggesting he'll take you out of college is not constructive.

Anyway, he can't remove you from education (unless it's private). It's your choice to be there.

I think hes worried that you arent interested in going any more. Anyway hes totally over reacting and sounds like an ass.

wait what sort of timeline are we looking at here ? 4 records lates and 3 absenses I presumed was over a year period ?

Maybe I read it wrong *shrugs* if that was over say the space of a month then you need to sort it out

I'm reading it as since the start of the school year

Silly to take you out but then you need to sort yourself out, get there on time and dont have time away.

You missed College because of a strike on something you don't use?

Although perhaps, it's on record he was not there, but was? Because the teacher uses the tubes to commute and therefore did not turn up to the lesson to mark him and others as there? Just a guess, otherwise I have no idea?

Also yes I guess he is being unreasonable, but how will he pull you out of college? But as others have said it's best you get your act together regardless.

tube strikes = extra traffic on the roads maybe??

Yeah your dad can't take you out of college unless it is private, however, you also need to sort yourself out. If this was a job you'd of had a warning already.

The strikes were well publicised, meaning people could make allowances for them and still reach destinations on time.
