I got a PS3 a few weeks ago having finally got the urge to play the exclusives that I can't play on my 360.
Top of my list was the Uncharted games.
This game seems to be praised almost exclusively but I'm finding it a 6/10 game at best.
The story is just completely forgettable so far (I'm about half way through)
The combat is ridiculously frustrating and unfair, enemies seem to be able to hit you from a mile away with any weapon and you just get waves of enemies (feels like COD at times in the combat) Ammo seems in really short supply yet your enemies never run out. Each combat seems to start with me frantically trying to find some cover while gently sticking my head out and instantly getting 4/5 enemies hitting me from various distances.
The jetski section was appalling, why didn't they give the girl some A.I. and let her shoot
instead of blasting through the ruins on a jetski you have to resort to inching forwards slowly, then switch to shooting to shoot someone, switch back and inch forwards again...breaks all the excitement that it could have had.
Also really disappointed with the balance between combat and adventuring/puzzles. It's basically just a shooter, barely any puzzles or exploring to be done
I've heard the series gets much better (I've got the second waiting for me) but this one is just a grind, has it aged badly or was it just overhyped because it was close to the console launch?
