Is USB better than PS/2?

Thinking of getting a KVM so I can admin my server rig without using VNC.

I've got a Logitech MX3000 wireless desktop set which I use via USB on my main rig, but I have to use PS/2 on my server rig when I reboot otherwise it just locks up at post. USB Keyboard/Mouse support is enabled because when I plug my old Logitech Navigator Keyboard and M/S Optical Mouse into separate ports, everything works fine.

Thus I'm looking at getting a PS/2 KVM. Would I notice any performance drop on my main rig compared with USB?

Cheers

You mean is there any performance difference between USB and PS2? At the level of the amount of data a keyboard or mouse is sending, not anything that would be significant. If I can use the PS2 ports without any problems (e.g. scrollwheels, extra buttons etc still work) then I would use them in preference to USB anyway since the keyboard/mouse will be the only things on the PS2 bus. :)

I usually go with PS/2 for my keyboard and USB for the mouse, use the other PS/2 port to power my external hard drive.
