Is Warhammer Online better than WoW?

I have WoW installed and Warhammer installed, i can't say i really got into Warhammer.

I've played WoW since it came out, and i really enjoyed it, i like the way it looked, sounded, the social side of it.
Warhammer didn't appeal to me, looks wise that is.
Its a pvp based game, Didn't really like the PvP much, I thought WoW did it better.

I won't be playing Warhammer after my month free trial thingy, I'll go back to playing World of Warcraft.

Warhammer is good, but its not World of Warcraft good in my opinion.

agree with Tummy don't really see any difference with the PVP between the two , I really wanted to get into warhammer but Ill be going back to wow after the free trial .

Pretty pathetic that people get themselves so defensive over their choice of game.

I currently have War installed. I quit WoW last year. Am i playing WAR like i used to play wow?, No.. Im playing it casually, popping on, doing some rvr, gaining a level. Then logging off. But im enjoying that and think its been worth the 28 quid i paid.

...

No longer my cup of tea. cant be arsed with that any more

It also hasn't gone unnoticed that you've invested in like 8 games recently and are trying your hand at more than just WAR ;)

Tricky one. You have to remember WoW has had years to perfect the way it is and it's easy to forget the stuff that's taken for granted in-game, has been added over time. But from the outset, even beta, incredibly engaging, varied and exciting. The difference in zones was clear and visually stimulating. I particularly loved grouping up for dungeons, working together to kill a boss that everyone needed for a quest....

...That is, however, where the gameplay stifled a bit for me. I left before Battlegrounds, etc, so i never got to try that, but bolt-on's have never really been that engaging from past experience. So, from what i played, the game was just hunt for loot after a while. You are encouraged early to strive for higher levels and better equipment, leaving the casual player a bit left out (i certainly wasn't casual at the time though).

(sorry in advance if this gets 'wordy')

WAR is a different breed. As soon as i logged on for the first time last week, i said "ffs, this is WoW with a couple of Mods". I still believe this, but what WoW lacked, this fills for a player like me. I like variation, many different engaging things to do and a rewarding time for doing each. I like the way XP is given for a wide range of things; how stuff i do is acknowledged in different ways; how i can access PvP battles from the outset AND be a useful part in them. I was rarely a PvPer before, but it really has something to it in this, and i haven't scratched the surface.

I do believe the PvE could be better, it seems hit or miss at the moment, i do think crafting seems an afterthought, i do think visually the game can be dull.

BUT, what it sets out to accomplish, it achieves and i haven't found myself feeling left behind for starting late, frustrated with gameplay or having moments of wondering what to do next. It sucks in my spare-time and has me wanting more and i think there's real replayability in this one.

Most importantly however, i can play as a casual player without feeling left behind, and accomplish things in a short space of time and jump straight into the action whenever i want. With a full-time job, a PC-hating girlfriend and a love for going out to the pub, it's this flexibility that's important.

Yes, i'm bored at work :D

I only ever played WoW for 2 months (30 days free) and i loved it. But never really had the time to play it but when i did play it i really enjoyed it!

I bought WAR for £14 from the Bay brand new and thought it was DIRE! Just felt crappy, looked crappy and played buggy!

Stay away in my opinion. I dont play WoW now and havent for about 3 months. But id go back to it any day if i had a spare 2 hours a night to play games.

Graphics arent THAT bad really - once you add a bit of AA+AF

here's a SS of my character:

I think the graphics of both games are really nice - but you have to remember we don't play MMORPGS primarily for the graphics.

Didn't see that post, unless it was the guy whining about CC in WoW being over the top, in which case he's wrong.

He did a very comprehensive post of all the various stunning abilities in Wow (previous page). Here's the list again, just so you can form a really good counter argument :

bash, entangling roots, hibernate, cyclone, celecstial focus, freezing trap, entrapment, wyvern sting, frost nova, polymorph, impact, frostbite, frost shock, stoneclaw totem, earth shock, hammer of justice, seal of justice, repentance, psychic scream, mind control, blackout, sap, gouge, blind, cheapshot, kidney shot, mace stun, fear, seduction, howl of terror, noob coil, shadowfury, charge, intercept, concussion blow, hamstring

And "the guy whining about CC in WoW being over the top, in which case he's wrong." isn't an argument, it's one of those juvenile comments I was talking about.

 Christopher  Christopher  Christopher

I blame it on all them recoloured models on WoW, one day Christopher you will discover originality and girls. WoW was fun back in 2004/5/6/7 just like UO was back in its day. Some of us have moved on and IMO WAR is the better game.

Another person who again takes it personally haha. What the hell has seeing girls got to do with Warhammer sucks? Confused on that one mate :D

This thread is called which is better, WoW or Warhammer so you have got to expect a lot of debating, that is the point of forums. If you are going to start taking it personally then go get help.

What am I supposed to be counter acting?

Yes, WoW has lots of CC abilities, what's the big deal? It is not over the top.

Remove CC from WoW and it'd be quite boring, dumbing down the game, great.

OK.
