Is watching the whole of lost going to pay off for me?

I watched the first series back in the day but then never got around to series 2 for some reason. Looking for something I can sink some hours into and enjoy. It doesn’t need to be perfect but I understand there are some questionable directions it takes at times. Is it worth watching the whole thing? Or should I steer clear?

I haven't watched it, but from most people I know that have, absolutely not.

Watch instead:

The Sopranos
The Shield
Breaking Bad

No, worst thing I ever did was invest time in Lost.

Starts off so well and then its like the writers were surprised it got commissioned to continue and never had a plan for how to finish it.

There are two types of people in the world, those who watched the end of Lost and understood it and those that didn't :D

It's a great TV series if you can get into it. Watch a few episodes and see if it hooks you, if not, move on, no point watching something for the sake of it.

Very nice. The Shield is slightly lesser known, but a total gem. I would so love to be able to watch it again for the first time.

It was a great journey at the time but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone now. The joy was watching it on a weekly basis and talking about it with others. The destination was ultimately not worth it though.

Lost is up there with Game of Thrones in that the last season and ending are so irredeemably bad that it removes any desire to ever re-watch any of the critically acclaimed and excellent preceding seasons. There is no chance whatsoever of me personally re-watching Lost or Game of Thrones, despite absolute loving the vast majority of it. Lost is probably the worst though, in that you literally have utterly wasted hours of your life watching it up to the last season, still hanging on in the hope that the ending would somehow make it all worth it.

That is exactly how I felt about Dexter. It wasn’t even the whole last series. Just the last couple of episodes destroyed it for me when I’d loved the rest

Lost was awful, I forced myself through the last season. Shame as it had so much potential, but in the end it was just hype that kept it going - much like GOT.

I remember watching the first couple of Seasons of lost an liked it...got a bit weird once it started going into the supernatural and stopped watching shortly after

I watched it with a friend recently and the only thing good was discussing the plot together.

If I was watching it alone I doubt I would have finished. Especially after about season 4 or so when it completely Lost the plot.

I watched all Lost again in Lockdown 1 and it made more sense this time around.
The ending was what I expected and I got it the first time.

I've just started Vikings again.
