Is working in Gamestation really that good of a job?

As a Saturday job, many years ago, I worked in Toys R Us. We had to wear the "uniform" which was a stripey orange and white blaze.

One customer came over to me and asked, "Do you work here?", to which I replied, "No, I'm wearing this for a bet!"

What would you have on you when you are going to work that you don't want any one in work to see? You just would not take anything you didn't need to.
 
Worked for the big orange/black H company for 4 years and we got searched at the end of the late shifts.

I always had a backpack full of sweaty cycling clothes/underwear/tools and whatever else so that was fun.

Sometimes it was just a case of "A you sign you witnessed Bs search" "B you sign you witnessed As search" and off we went.

The amound of stuff that was 'Code 52' back then was unreal though, grand a week on audio equipment usually.

my missus used to work in a supermarket and she said anyone whos till was short got a right bollocking, ive seen cashiers in boots ask for money from another till for the person they were asking tell them they arent allowed becausre every penny has to be accounted for aswell

Yup, the tills are weighed a couple of times through the day, plus you do empty the till and send it to the cash office every time you go on a break. But you also get relief cashiers coming on when its busy, they can come on while you're on a break, and they don't empty the till when they leave, so there's no way to prove who took any money, assuming they don't do it obviously and its captured by CCTV. Though in my store, the cameras couldn't really see anything since the till draw means they can't see a thing happening in the actual till, you could be stuffing 20's down your sleeve!

And its partly to stop people filling their pockets with stuff. Recently one of our checkout team leaders was found untagging DVD box sets and sticking them in his car. They searched his car and it was full, got the police involved now.
