Mine is incredibly slow, but apparently there's some sort of major service outage in the North West - Manchester this evening and users may experience a drop in speed of 50% or more. The engineers are currently working on fixing the issue asap, supposedly.

Apparently Scottish o2 customers are routed through Manchester as well.

Scotland.

Very slow here, can't get more than 50kbps.
High pings, bbc.co.uk : 90ms

EDIT: Downloading with my download manager, I can get 2MB/s. Watching iPlayer I can't get over 50kbps.

like every night its been very slow, pinging uk cs servers at 100 to 130 & this has started from 19:00 & at 22:00 its rising so I've given up, and surfing my 56k internet. Hopefully all will be sorted soon when the capacity issues are addressed.. BTW Northeast is very slow :(

O2 LLU near Bristol is OK here..

Speedtest.net is maxing out and pings are low..

are you on O2 Access?

On the "Pro" package up to 20Mb thingy.

ADSL2+ LLU I believe.

Going by threads on a load of other forums inc the o2 forums, this appears to be affecting loads of people at this time.

Fingers crossed it will be fixed by tomorrow. :D

Looks like everything is back to normal. A lot of folks that were posting in the same threads on other forums about this are saying they are back to getting what they were used to before.

I'm back to almost what I was getting, speeds still a little down for me but nearly there.

Just did a speedtest and got the results below :-

:D

I had terrible pings and overall connectivity for about a week until yesterday.

They did upgrades to 50 exchanges very early on friday.

It's worth phoning O2's customer service just to report it if it's bad for more than 3 days.

well I had a laugh earlier I contacted o2 about the high pings & they are just denying it exists and suggest its just the games. ... um so far I thought it was amusing but the person I spoke to went quiet when I mentioned ocuk forum as well as dslzone & be forum ;) then said there are some capicity issues.. I thought that was a result after the initial fobbing off as U cant blame steam for all the issues especially when tiscali/pipex customers get a better ping.

oh well roll on next month

Spoke too soon, its dropped back down like the proverbial brick again :(

Again, going by a few other forums this is affecting many others.

Wonder what's actually going on?

crap here NE england too, was terrible all day yesterday then back to normal early in the am.... and now back to absolute crap. its actually been really crap for ages now :/

Speed is terrible at the moment on Be (O2), ping to bbc is about 100 and customer service seem to want me to do lots of tests, using 2 different routers, even though the problem is clearly at their end  Seriouly contemplating leaving and getting a Sky package, no point paying a premium for crap speed.

my ping is sitting at 130 at the mo so by 19:00 its gonna be worse like, well just hope its gets sorted soon. on the plus side my downlaods are still peaking at 1.2mps but downloading is niot what I want.

I'm not long off the phone with customer services.

Woman said they were aware of extremely slow throughput in and around the Manchester and NW area, and also Scotland.

Said they were working on it to resolve the issue as soon as possible and please bear with them.

Also said the have been inundated with calls and their CS centres are as busy as......well, a very busy thing. :)

Yeah, my router has just dropped connection and resynced at @17,000 but speeds are obviously nowhere near that.

I'm wondering how the o2 guys down South are doing - are your speeds also down or is it just us "oop North" near to where the previous outage was?.
