As above, how does your partner respond to you being on the PC?

I don't really go on the PC too often as I work away, but when i'm home and not out seeing friends or family my hobby is to play online games and I enjoy spending time on the ocuk forums too. My missus thinks its "sad" and that it isn't a real hobby. Its not a serious issue by a long shot but she thinks it would be more "normal" if I were to go out and get slaughtered in the pub, play football or whatever else it is people do these days.

I have found this in the past as well that there is a still a little bit of social bias against those who regularly use computers in a hobby aspect rather than just in a work setting.

How is it with everyone else?

As for it not being the right thing to spend time doing. The older generations usually seem to think of it as a waste but not so much young people any more (though might just be my social circle)

I haven't lived with any of my gf's but gaming is a big part of who I am and they always knew that beforehand. Besides most of them were pretty into games as well.

I've always wondered why women get with men who spend so much time on a PC and complain after the fact. They should know this about you, why are they moaning now?

What you need to do though in terms of the social side of things is to, not care what other people think.

I don't think it bothers her tbh, generally when she's around I don't use it as much. But when i'm not with her, my free time is my own

i spend most evenings on my pc, the g/f wanted me to spend more time with her, so i built another pc and put it under the tv.

When I joined OcUK, the lass I was seeing said I spent too much time on the Pc and we split soon after.

As she was a mad as a pan of crabs type who could be cold, twisted and somewhat nasty, I struggled to give a toss.

The lass I am with now has no qualms with me and OcUK, even though she is aware of Freefaller's depravity that knows no depths.

My wife has come to accept it. She sits and watches her **** soaps every night, so I sit and play games/surf the net on my PC.

It's a hell of allot cheaper than going out every night and getting hammered.

I have to admit, I spend an awful lot of time on the pc, the wife spends an awful lot of time watching dross on the telly!
In my defence, I have no little in sport and rarely go out these days, so it's my only real vice.
And as the pc is in the living room at least I'm in close proximity!!
