from the progressive british muslims, who even say the group were extremist terrorists.

The Islam4UK website contains plenty of examples of extremism:

* They claim that joining the police force is apostasy since anyone who seeks to uphold man-made law is an enemy of Islam.(3)
* They relate homosexuality as a problem equivalent to rape, paedophilia and homicide.(4)
* They warn that Muslim children are not safe in the hands of non-Muslim teachers (using the divisive term Kufaar, or 'unbeliever') since citizenship, Shakespeare and learning Christmas carols is part of the education system in Britain.(5)
* There is an article entitled: “Land of the baby killers”.(6) In response to the rape and murder of Hannah Foster they write; “The fallacy of freedom has failed society and furthermore made people victims of a corrupt man-made system, for which Islam is the only solution”.(7)


I am glad to see the muslims of britian are also speaking out against them.

This is a victory for britain and i am glad the goverment is finally doing something

doesn't really make a difference though does it, bigotry and intolerance is just that regardless of its origin

Why should the home grown stuff be tolerated any more than theirs?

I personally view it as a complete and utter failure for Britain, you are condoning censorship and taking away the right to peaceful protest if your 'party' is not in line with the governments views.
It's a slippery slope we are on tbh

What I think makes them (BNP) worse is they are less cut and dry than Islam4UK, however extreme the views of Islam4UK I feel they are more easily defined, yet the BNP hides under the guise of being the party for Britain and only have 'our peoples' best interests at heart when really they are just a racist party with white supremacist views.

And to think that Nick Griffin has a seat at the European Parliament, that to me is travesty, and yet the government ban Islam4UK, if anyone is doing real harm is people like Griffin.
 
The point is, both the BNP and this group are organisations which you can join but are considered distasteful by most people. weather it is because they want to turn Buckingham palace into a mosque or gas all gays and darkies.

They should be free to have these ideas, just not harass people with them.

That's certainly the way they'll try to spin it IMO. I'm 80% happy they've been banned, and 20% worried that its going to give the extremists more ammo and store up problems in the long run.

Also its a bit of a failure of free speech too.

As much as I hate the thought, he was voted in, you cannot argue with that.

I'm really surprised that the guy is still alive to be honest.

Do you feel safe walking down manchester road(in swindon) at night?
Because i sure dont which is why a group like the bnp does fairly well, because nobody wants to live in a country where there are no go areas at certain times of day because of ethnic minorities.
 
At last common sense prevails.

Bnp and Uk for Islam issues aside think what was going through the minds of the 100+ Servicemans families who had died in Afganistan if this march took place .

This is a very sad sign of things to come in this country I fear , my father always said to me that we would have ghettoes in this county in years to come and I just laughed at him but look at the inner cities at the moment , battle grounds drawn in Luton and protests about a war we should not be in .

I fear the worst for the future .
 
I'm sure that Islam4UK are very pleased with all this publicity. If you look at their history, they were unlikely to ever actually go ahead with the march. Their intent was to be as controversial as possible in order to gain publicity.

Well done, media. Well done, Labour. Mission accomplished.

Will banning Islam4UK make them more or less appealing to angry Muslim youths?
 
the british goverment has got to take a small part of the blame for all these hate campaigns, if they were not so soft they should lock them up or throw them out of britain. It just makes me sick how they can get away with it.
