Islamaphobia Legislation (UK)

So if someone went up to a Jewish person and said hitler was right, that’s not something to be offended by?

Or how about all the abuse victims of saville, would it be out of the ordinary if they were offended by someone saying they deserved it?

They're entitled to that opinion. No matter how abhorrent it may be to you or I.

So ban people being obnoxious?

And what does it matter if someone is offended? If someone is offended by something you don't find offensive, should they be punished by law and have their lives destroyed?

Although I consider you to be perpetually offended by everything, so its a bit of a moot point.

This thread is a pretty clear example of why legislation like this is needed unfortunately.

There’s a whole world of difference between legitimate criticism/commentary and islamophobia. Do people really not understand, or do they themselves have an agenda?

And this legislation could never be abused and used for purposes which it was never intended?

Could you give us an example of legitimate criticism?

So to be clear, you'd be in favour of prosecuting some of the people in here for some of the views they've expressed. Can you share which ones you'd lock up if you were supreme leader?

Thought policing and anti speech laws, Canada already has some of those so why not follow suit, what could go wrong as long as peoples feelings aren't hurt.
You've reminded me of that ex-copper who liked a supposedly anti-transgender limerick and was told by a policeman that he needed to "check his thinking" - I wonder if the copper said it in a Tom Cruise "Minority Report" style voice? :D

See, what I find funny is people like you having to crap out their own teeth. Play stupid games!

I can live in that world, can you? Going to be brutal for all those loose of mouth types to keep their words in check when the time comes.

I can keep my mouth shut and can lie quite well if the need arises, I’m a good little pleb that knows his place.

Please explain why 'Islamophobia' should be illegal. Why shouldn't people be free to voice their contempt, disgust and/or mock a religion whichever one it be?

You are advocating the criminalisation of people who attack a religion.

You belong in the medieval era.
