Are you a moron? Who said it is separatist?

It doesn't have Somali centre in it's name (and even if it did it wouldn't matter). It is used predominantly by Somalians.
 
It's the news guys. They love to stir up a good racism story.

Funny, I was reading about an arson attack in Bournemouth a couple of weeks ago on a house that almost killed 8 people. Didn't make it onto BBC News though.

It's an Islamic centre for Somalians remember? This is why you said it was racist. If however this is not true then it's not a racist attack now is.
 
I read the article, the bit I couldn't comprehend was this part:



I look towards the middle east and I am not sure where people are seeing a peaceful community.

You know, I don't think the media would have gone mad about it at all. Personally I think it would be played down by (most of) the media.

The Islamic centre sounds like a divisive artefact in itself. They send the children there after school to stop them from integrating with non muslims and to continue to preach religious propaganda.

Of course it was a terrible act to burn the building down, but how did the building help to create a more integrated society>?

Why caveat the sentence that it was a terrible act? Who cares for what legal purpose it was being used for. Sunday school is also bad? Many people would disagree with you there.

Just for the record I'm playing devil's advocate on the Media issue to point out the hypocrisy. I don't think this should be headline news above something like the current problems in Syria.
 
Another one to add to the 200+ islamaphobic attacks in the past 2 weeks I guess.

This is the media's own doing - creating hysteria and fear amongst the masses - helps justify the wars in the middle-east by demonising the 'muslamics'. Its what happens when you give excessive airtime to the extremists whilst drowning out the voice of the majority.

Why caveat it? Because I don't think its right to burn a building down, regardless of what your views are.

Im not a fan of sunday school either, or religious schools and I went to both.

I just meant why add opinions on whether the building was being used for something noble or not. I don't see how the two issues relate.

Yeh.

It's also possible the minimal airtime this is getting now is to stop copycat attacks.

Should have thought about that when going into overdrive 2 weeks ago.

I didn't say I know who did it. I didn't say I know for sure it was a racist attack. (My language in posts might not caveat everything, but it should be inferred).

However, if you actually bother to read the thread people are rubbishing the idea that this could be a racist attack. Keep up.

If an Arab is attacking Somalians on the basis that they Somalians then what do you think I'm I'm going to say?

Also do you think using patronising language means anything? You just look clueless.
