Extortionate landing and handling fees. I'll not be back there again.

I've flown into Ronaldsway airport a few times and ventured into Castletown and Ballasalla. I've only been to Douglas once where I stopped for a crap before I flew back.
To be honest, it's not that much different from anywhere in the UK. Are you thinking of going for a holiday or to live?

Live for 6 months - Im being paid to much to say no :)

It is like living in Royston Vasey. In Port Erin, where I was, there is a supermarket which charged a 20% premium if you didn't carry a 'local card'

Go for it. The impression I got when I was there is that it was a bit of a bastardisation between small town Ireland and village life in England. It's weird and hard to explain, you have to see it for yourself.

The people were good craic though. I went out on the drink once and had a great night, even though I was on my own. :)

Not quite the same. Craic has many many more different and obscure meanings :D
Yeah, but for the purposes of this thread...

...though if someone goes up to him and asks 'What's the craic?' i suppose it may well result in a confused look :p
