If you've cancelled your subscription with your old ISP then they shouldn't charge you again. Give them a ring just to be sure
For God's sake, don't mention the word cancel to your old ISP. They'd most likely put a cease order on the line - which would override the migration, leave you without internet for nearly 2 weeks & cost you £40+ in new activation fees.

When the migration goes through, the previous ISP will be notified and will stop billing you. If by some extreme bad luck you fall through this automated system, they'd more than likely give you the money back.

Bear in mind that most ISPs have a 30 day notice period and you may be obliged to pay for some or all of the month you leave in.

Be carefull as some ISP's will carry on charging you even though you have migrated away, so when you have migrated, go into your bank and cancel the DD yourself to be safe, took me about 3 months to stop Tiscali billing me even though id migrated away, i got the money back though in the end, but try and save yourself the hastle of having to keep phoning them up to stop them from billing you as your not on their service anymore. :)

thanks a lot

I migrated from them to UKFSN back in October/November time. All went fine - Nildram charged around £7 to cover the 30 day notice period (around a week's worth)

thanks a lot

sounds good ,so the Nildram Direct Debit was cancelled by them ok ? also is UKFSN a better isp in your view ,worth the move ?

Cancelled fine. UKFSN speeds have been fantastic - only quibble I have with Enta is that they will bill you for exceeding your peak usage without warning you are approaching the limit. So you have to keep monitoring usage yourself on http://billing.enta.net/
