My brother is looking for an ISP that is a) decent b) Has a month by month contract. He only has his flat until August so doesn't want to be tied in for a year.

Recommendation please.

Just stick 'Student ISP' in the search box and hit enter, then read :)

This is a frequent topic as you may imagine.

Be's 8MB package is pretty good - no contract, think you get the wireless router with that one, and all you need to give is 3 months notice.

Be Value (the 8Mbps tier) has a 12 month contract.

If you choose Be Value, your initial contract period is 1 year. After the first year, we simply ask for 1 months notice in writing to cancel your contract without incurring any additional cancellation charges.

Is he in a cable area? We're looking at the Virgin 20Mbps package and don't want 12 month contract (we only have a contract with the landlord for 10months) so will be phoning them up shortly; I've heard they waive the 12 month contract if you speak to them, however we'll be trying this out soon so not 100% sure. (If anyone can clarify that'd be great)
