If it is that, you need to stop your sync speed swinging around. Connecting the modem to the master/test socket would be a start.
 
Well when i have my router in its in the master socket and this is when i have the problems
I can only use the modem on the extension due to the usb connection on it
I have been using the router on the extension for ages with no problems but just lately its been realy realy slow

Im actually downloading at the moment and its at 223kb/sec
Which is actually what i would expect but im just wandering how long it will last:(
 
The BT Speedtest (instructions in sticky) should give your IP profile, but if your throughput's improved that quickly it's unlikely to be that at fault.
 
Its strange i was downloading the same thing last night at not a bad rate then internet went slow and so did the download down to about 13kb/sec
I think that was after it dissconnected
Then it was slow all night left it till this morning and its goin great still downloading at 230kb/sec
 
As Tolien says i dont think Tiscali do residental ADSL2+. Maybe its just for businesses? Not completely sure. You could try Sky, they seemed to have got better over the last year.
 
Well i think were going to go with Sky

Do i need to cancel my orange connection before we order sky or how do i go about it??

Well im back to using my Netgear router its straight into the main socket and all other pc's are using wirelss

Just ran speedtest yet again and got this



Now if it was like this all the time i would be happy but why does it just drop suddenly with no warning or what not???
 
There is probably a problem on your line causing the sync to drop a lot. BT are the only ones who could fix it properly im afraid.
 
Thing is whenever i have rang them they always come back with its fine on our end

Well i will see how it goes as today its great
Anymore troubles then i think i will tell orange to sort it out
