ISP's not using the 'Fair Usage Policy' ?

Peeved at who? The neighbour who is just using their connection or the ISP trying to save a few quid and not keeping their network prepared in case, well, you know, people "use" it - heaven forbid!!!

I'd be peeved at the neighbour personally, i think that if someone is maxing out their connection all day every day then its abusing the line to the detriment of others.

Anyone who is doing that much downloading will know all about traffic shaping and 'unlimited' ISPs, they do it because they think they can get away with it and don't care about the rest of us. I imagine there are very few users downloading over 600GB a month with an innocent conscience.

Remember we're talking 600 GIG here, thats a crazy ammount of space, on a heavy month i may hit 100-300 but twice that much?!?! thats just greedy and there's simply no need.

It isn't just how much you download but when you do it.

Most ISPs would have no problem with high downloads if they were done between 1am - 8am.

If you need to download in the peak periods (roughly 6pm-midnight) then any download just adds to the problem.

Well I can't understand what happened to the paying for heavy usage that BT used to do.

If you went over your cap you had to pay extra per GB.

Why not do that?
That's what happen's when users of Options 1 & 2 go over the limit, but we dont have a limit do we!

My friend is on Demon, he is now having the same problem, he's on unlimited but found out yesterday that for him 'unlimited' actually means 60gb  Doesn't seem very fair when he's paying for 'unlimited'. But they've actually admitted to him that he has been capped and that he was sent an email telling him that he was close to his limit - which, he never received.
