Issue at School

Sixth Form is overrated, goto college, get a national Diploma, or HND, best decision I ever made, after 1 year of failing my maths physics + chemistry AS levels due to lack of interest.

Good result though, probably the best you could have hoped for.

roffle... Is SSU a special needs department equivalent then?

Basically a 'naughty room' where you are isolated from everyone else and basically have to learn alone...seems better though in some ways as you'll learn far more effectively..naturally the ones who are sent there won't see it that way and are more interested in disrupting the class.

SSU has many names but they have been made more 'correct'.

urm, you cant be billed for it because you are a minor, are they stupid? they should have called your parents in about it and conducted an investigation.
The easiest thing to do is to phone LEA(local education authority) and speak to someone there, they usually hand out an ass whooping to schools to keep them in line when somethings going wrong, failing that you tell them you're going to got the local press about it, lets face it, local press have NOTHING to report on so a minor being blackmailed by his school is going to be pretty big news.

That was known as isolation in my school. Don't think i ever went there, I was only suspended for a day for having a laser pen on me, yet there was nothing in my planner under the prohibited items section detailing laser pens. Nevermind, that was 4 years ago, and didn't affect my future at all.

I remember them making me phone my mum myself to tell her that I had brought the laser pen to school and that I had to be suspended for a day. No idea why I had to do that myself. Still, my mum was livid at the school, being so pedantic and heavy handed over such a triviality. It's not as if I was shining it in people's eyes, I was pointing it at the ceiling with filters on to make smiley faces, and silouttes of sexy females :p

So even though you haven't been blamed you are still being punished by being isolated from the rest of the school? Something doesn't seem right here, are we getting the full story?

I dont know why people make up this kind of bs on forums, but for some reason some people do. its sad.

I don’t know why people are ignoring you; but I’m certainly thinking the same.

I like giving people the benefit of the doubt, but this doesn’t add up. Most likely we’re only hearing his side of the story and he’s omitted something which is why he is being punished despite the school clearing knowing it was the other two at this point. Either that or the school is confused or has been mislead into believing that he played a part in it but given the discrepancies in the actual event I’m more inclined to believe that he’s just not telling us something. Or as PeterT suggested, he may have a history and the school are finding it difficult to believe him.

Student support unit.

Schools lose money if they expel kids (around £5k per kid) so they stick 'em in a special room instead of taking the little ***** and caning them like the deserve.

Welcome to the Political Correct, Health & Safety obsessed world where kids run riot because they get no discipline at home or at school.

Why in the hell are you spending 1 day in SSU if you have done nothing ?

Way I see it the school can either punish them all or not at all if there's no proof of who did what.

That said it seems a bit off that the OP get's one while they get three. Why give the op any at all?

Had this happened to me at your age I would have gone ballistic if the school blamed me when it wasn't my fault. I would make as much fuss as possible and if they threatened me with not being able to enter 6th form, I'd take it as far as possible to get the result I wanted.

Now though, I'd probably just pay up, do my sixth form and bide my time to get revenge. :)

Tell them to prove it or take a running jump. I find mothers are particularly good at make this point in no uncertain terms.

That's nothing. I knew a boy that kicked a football thought our schools swimming pool windows. The window was cheep to repair but health and safety dictated that the whole swimming pool had to be drained and cleaned at a cost of several thousand pounds. Needless to say the boys parents politely but firmly stated accidents happen at the school should budget for such accidents. They paid for the windows and that was it, they can't make you pay. I think the school ended up claiming on the insurance.
