my issue seems my pc doesnt always boot seems once in a blue moon. I was just testing things out and i found out if i take out the 8 and 6 pin from the gpu the pc seems to start to work. I hear 2 beeps and the fans all work like its alive and working fine but sadly i dont have onboard graphics on the mobo i think,

if i plug them back in the fans go but no beep nothing comes up just the fans go iv tried both pci slots iv also tried two gpus my 290 and my old 5850 same thing happens??

please help Thanks GothicCorpse

Reset BIOS first (take out motherboard battery for 5 minutes then replace)

If that doesn't work try with each stick of RAM on its own.

If that doesn't work my money is on the power supply being knackered - do you have another you can try?

done the memory thing twice done the ram thing yeah seems it could be psu unable to handle amobo and gpu at the same time think it doesnt have the power no more its like it works with the gpu out but soon as iplug that in it just doesnt boot

Yeovil Somerset i feel like a kid who just got the worlds biggest candy that they have been wanting for years aka pc upgrade but end up finding the candy is uneatable lol

I was going to cornwall on wednesday and have a psu you can borrow, but yeovil is too far out the way of the M5.

ive seen a lot of compatibility issues with them and gigabyte boards

when you say it fails to start you mean always or just the odd time? psu might be ok its hard to say

odd non boots can be memory/cold boot issue aswell,or outdated bios

well when i had my 5850 in it would work every time i started it up but on the first go i couldnt turn it off unless i didnt want to reuse it for say couple hours as it would just start up but not boot and i would have to turn the psu switch off
