Hi guys, just posted this in CS but not sure how long they take to reply?

Anyone have a quick fix for me please?

Hi,

I purchased and overclockers bundle from you and it's been working fine.

I just had to do a fresh install of windows 8 and it reset the overclock. I went into the BIOS and loaded profile 1, saved and exited and now it won't boot. The PC won't get as far as the bios screen so I can reset, it just powers up for a money and then reboots - how do I reset the bios please?

Can't see any button or anything on the MB to reset.

Thanks

Hi Bonehunter,

You can reset your bios by removing the CMOS battery located on the motherboard for up to 5 mins. It is best to do this with the power-supply unplugged from the wall.

It'll be a silver flat battery like a watch battery but larger diameter

Look at this pic, it's between the big silver block and the blue pci-e slot

Do not hotlink images!

Well it booted afterwards, it had to to get me to the bios screen to load the pre installed profile 1 overclock (it had lost this after I installed windows 8).

I chose profile 1, save and reboot and have had this issue since.....

Hmmm.. maybe because it's a new bios revision and the saved bios was made on the old one, they don't agree with each other.

I'm just guessing though, not much help.

Try turning on your pc with it unplugged and the CMOS battery out. It will drain any slow-release capacitors that could be keeping the BIOS settings alive.

Pretty funny you spent that money on a pre-set overclock only to have to do it yourself anyway lol.

Sounds like you have installed it with the HDD set to IDE and the Overclocked profile is set to AHCI or vica versa.. Go to the bios and look for HDD settings and see if there is an option to change to IDE or AHCI and try that.

Out of curiosity as I'm completely unaware myself, wouldn't flashing a new bios delete all saved profiles?
