Hi

Not sure if this is the best forum section for this but its RAM based.

I have just built a new PC for my fiance, minus a graphics card but thats for her to save for, the spec is below.

CPU: Xeon 1230v3
M/B: Asus H87i-plus
RAM: Teamgroup Vulcan Gold 2133mhz

The problem I am having is that the RAM isn't running close to the speed that was purchased. When I first booted it was running at 1333mhz but I would like to get it close to the purchased speed, I activated xmp which has set it at 1600 but closer would be better. What am I doing wrong? I realise it may not be possible to run at its rated speed but it was decent RAM for a good price from Overclockers and I wanted to get her quality :)

At least she let me spend Valentines evening putting it together.....after she 'dragged' me to the lego movie

its down to the h87 chipset limitation,it only supports upto 1600mhz im afraid, for higher ram speed support you need a z87 chipset motherboard
