On the USPS tracking page it is showing my order has been 'delivered' however I have not received my item. I have checked with reception and the building reception and they have received nothing

The strange thing is that it shows
'Delivered - Your item was delivered in UNITED KINGDOM at 7:20 am on October 3, 2013.' (no signature anywhere)

However the building it is being delivered to does not open until 8am

I called the Domestic & International USPS Tracking number - 18002221811 and get an automated message 'No tracking informaiton is available, please contact the sender'

I have also emailed the sender

Is there a chance it could have been delivered to a sorting office or somewhere else?

I imagine it's landed in the UK and is now in the hands of RM to actually deliver, rather than actually been delivered at it's final location.

Tom is correct in his assumption. I have had four packages in the last month and Royal Mail delivered them, no signature required.

If that is the case, what was happening to it from 28th - 3rd?

These are the steps

This is exactly right. If you don't receive the item or, much more likely, a card telling you that you need to pay a customs charge of £13.65 then go to your local sorting office and ask for it - this is what I had to do literally yesterday after it was
"Delivered" on the 25th sept

Yeah the customs note is a pain. I had to pay £5 duty Oban item but the cheeky buggers put an £8 handling charge onto it too! Robbery.

I ordered something from New York via USPS and it was in the UK within 24 hours, spent a week in UK customs before it was passed to Parcelforce for delivery in the UK.

Sill not received anything and no response when I emailed USPS through their online form

Does anyone have a contact for them? Its still showing the following on the tracking

try checking the tracking number on one of those generic tracking websites such as
https://www.parcel2go.com/parcel-tracking.aspx

often they give far more detailed info than the official websites do
it might have been handed over to UPS once it reached a UK depot who don't even deliver at the time listed
they deliver between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m
see if your USPS tracking number works on the UPS website

UPS (United Parcel Service) has nothing to do with USPS (United States Postal Service).

Any goods shipped to the UK by USPS are handed over to the foreign country's postal service to handle, which in this case is Royal Mail.

:o
either way one of those generic do it all tracking sites might give more detailed/accurate info
but it's not unusual for the tracking info from parcels abroad entering the UK and then having confusing tracking details that make no sense.

as it's the united states postal service it likely goes dead once it's reached the UK until it has been delivered which I doubt it had been at that time it's more than likely just the end message of their tracking once the package cleared the UK airport/docks

With Royal Mail tracking...
Your item, posted on 28/09/13 with reference LZ*********US has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for dispatch overseas.

On USPS...

Is it my job to chase up an order that has not arrived from a seller or is it theirs?

That says to me that the item has been turned over from USPS to Royal Mail. It might be slow because of the method of postage used and the time it takes to clear customs. It's not with a courier of which one of their benefits is speed and getting things cleared quickly.

Thanks. I'll give RM a call on Monday
