issues installing cooler

Hi guys

So yesterday I got my cooler and installed it, but I had issues with the screws been a tad to short. I got annoyed so decided did put abit of pressure on the brackets so the screws would reach. My only concern now though is I couldn't fully screw the screws in. Will it be ok? Their about halfway screwed in

And before anyone says, I definitely was using the correct screws and the bracket is fitted correctly

What cooler are you installing, & which motherboard/cpu is it?

It's a zalman CNPS 9990 Max cooler and it's a AMD 4300 FX 3.8. Motherboard is an Asrock 970 Extreme 3 R 2.0
