Issues with OCing Memory

Hey everyone, I recently purchased a new PC components to build a PC the following links are the components which I selected.

Mobo: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-070-AK&groupid=701&catid=1903&subcat=2046

RAM: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-076-PA&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387

CPU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-336-AM&groupid=701&catid=1967&subcat=1825

As you can see I have selected 2100MHz RAM and the mobo supports up to 2100MHz, when I go into the BIOS settings the RAM is set to default 1600MHz when I try to increase the speed of the RAM the computer doesnt boot up.

I have to reset computer and when I go and check the RAM speed the default speed has been changed to 866MHz, and when it boots up I sometimes get a blue screen of death saying "not less or equal".

Is there any way I can get my RAM speed upto 2100MHz?

I am currently running Windows 7 32bit (but have a patched kernel which allows me to have more than 4Gb)

Any help to resolve this matter would be gladly appreciated.

Lhexh.

You've purchased 1866mhz RAM. Clocking it 2100mhz will cause the crashes.

If your board supports an option for 1866, set it to that. If you're overclocking the CPU, be sure the check the RAM speed before saving config.

What voltage are you trying to run the RAM at? Increasing it when you set the RAM XMP profile (I take it you have done that?) might help.

This is all brand new kit isn't it? Freshly built system?

I'd try the RAM in another slot, just try one stick and see what happens. You may have faulty hardware. If the RAM supports more speed then what the BIOS is setting it to, you shouldn't have a problem.

If you have another stick of RAM, try that. Rule out any issues with the actual hardware first. Make sure it is seated 100% correctly.

Yeah its a totally brand new system, its about 6 days old. I thought the Mobo had to be XMP ready? and I'm just trying to run the RAM at its default speed which is 2133MHz
