Issues with Windows game bar in creators update.

Well i really wanted to try out game mode as several results on these forums look interesting. But what a ****storm im having. I installed the update today however i went to re enable the windows game bar as it's been turned off because it annoyed me whilst it had no function. Every time i do turn it on it just turns itself off again. I have tried to change this in the registry in the following lines

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR\AppCaptureEnabled ( i changed this to 1 )
&
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore\GameDVR_Enabled ( i changed this to 1 )

The top one changes back to 0 instantly and the second changes back to 0 upon reboot.

I have uninstalled the Xbox App via powershell and re installed it to no avail.

It's become to frustrating to try and continue tonight but i would love any advice on repairing this as i am reluctant to re install windows because i always have issues with my key not activating(genuine windows).

A clean install everytime. Updating just gives you problems galore. If your key is genuine, you will have zero trouble activating from a fresh install.
 
Personally doubt that it's worth that much effort as i really don't want to be re installing as much as i have. And not to mention the likes of Origin not having a decent implementation of directory pointing so having to re download my games that are already downloaded is just a pain.

Will await an answer from Microsoft but im doubtful this will be fixed.

Well, got some new stuff arriving over the course of the week motherboard included so i will be doing a fresh install of windows as I've been having some recurring annoying issues on my system for a while now. Not going to update to creators until it's fully released as there are to many annoying issues like screen not going to sleep and the language bar being forced on and reset to US every time. US now being an irremovable language.

*sigh* time to start backing up certain bits and hoping i don't forget anything. Im just not going to install my origin games again they can forget about it seeing as they can't implement a decent directory pointer im not going to bother using their software anymore.

Had to buy some more usb drives to sort it out :( All of mine have been " borrowed "
 
Sadly the latest version of windows with a clean ISO from Microsoft was the creators edition. They have removed the others from their download section now :(.

Still has the screen not turning off issue but my game mode works at least so will be doing some testing of that in the coming weeks. Going to take a while to get everything set up again to my personal preference :(.
