What area do you want to go into? supporting end users? or mainly server side support?

MCDST and MCSE for the windows side. I am just finishing my CCNA now and its a good course if you want to get more into the network side of things

Look at CompTIA A+ for basic general hardware etc, CompTIA Network+ for, erm, networking basics obviously, LPIC1 / 2 for Linux. All vendor neutral.

If you wanted vendor specific then as mentioned Cisco CCNA is a good networking qualification. I'm not too up to speed on Microsoft quals but I'd be looking at the modern day equivelents to the MCSA / MCSE quals as they are a few years old now.

Also I hate to say it but a computer related degree might be worthwhile, not necessarily for the technical stuff you would learn but purely because some people will throw your CV away if there is no degree on there...

It really depends where you want to go to be honest...

so probably the mcse exam, Compita A+ and Compita Network+ As i am working with networks and mainly windows sbs 2003 and windows 2003 but a windows 2008 servers will proably be soon implented.
