IT: Chapter 2

Couldn't get past the first scene of the first film. Pennywise was nothing more than a scoobydoo villain.

Poor watered down mainstream horror.

Didn't think much of the first movie myself, almost anytime the Clown appeared it was punctuated by a loud noise to try and get a jump scare and it got old fast.

The more you seen of the Clown the less dangerous\scary he seemed, I think they gave him too many scenes where he was in full view and it just got goofy looking after a while. Plus he had too much to say which again made him less threatening, just go for the kill instead of talking people to death. In some scenes the voice reminded me of Yoda, particularly the first killing scene with Georgie

Had they done a few killings with a fleeting glimpse and and built him up it may have been more effective, for a time at least. Maybe if they kept only his eyes visible during the first killing in the sewer it would have been a better build up to the reveal of the Clown.

Oh dear. Just leave it alone the classic can't be beaten.

If you mean the mini series it has not aged well at all. I defended it passionately until rewatching it two years ago and realising I had to take off my rose tinted specs. Tim Curry of course is superb in the role but overall, the series is poor, second half more so than the first :(

Both have their flaws, like in the book where the kids have a big gang bang with bev.

Ah ffs, Jessica Chastain plays adult Bev in the new one and i've got a proper thing for her, you've put gangbang and her in my mind now :D

I thought the first was good fun but too long. If they made part 2 a little leaner it should be equally fun and hopefully better.

The original 2 parter film / series is just... ok. Conceptually great, more famous for the clown than actually being good though.

They better include "Kiss me Fatboy" it's the best scene in the original :P

Looking forward to this though, I enjoyed part 1 but they were never going to top Tim Curry as Pennywise.

To what are you referring to, the book or the 'miniseries'?

LOL, i think red letter media mentioned that in their review of the first part, isn't the premise of that they get lost and think that because they are virgins they cant find their way out, then the little fat kid is the "biggest" of the lot of them? Wonder wtf King was smoking when he came up with that.

The ritual of Chud (and its discovery/lead up) was the book's most WTF moment* for me. I wonder if there'll be any analogue for that in the new film.

*it's been 25 years since I read it, so may have forgotten other, more bat **** crazy ones

I have no attachment to the original particularly, and enjoyed watching the first part of the new interpretation, and after watching the trailer a few weeks back i'm also looking forward to seeing this one! Seems like i'm in the minority here though ha!

I loved the mini series. This new one was my first foray into imax....but the film was pretty *****. The clown was too slapstick, it just didnt seem scary at all it just got slapped about a lot after the first kill lol.

The only thing this movie had in terms of scares was that annoying jump scare noise anytime it appeared, besides that the more you seen of the clown the stupider it looked and less threatening it was.

Good looking trailer! Doesnt look like its given too much away.. hopefully!

First one seemed really silly to me, don't think I'll be watching this one.

This one is supposed to be a lot darker then chapter one, although I actually really enjoyed it.

As reboots/remake go I think this is right up there. So much better than The Woman In Black remake compared to the original TV version for example, or the TV remake of Whistle And I Will Come etc.
Also I was extremely cagey about anyone other than Tim Curry playing Pennywise but I love this guy (forget his name).
