IT: Chapter 2

i think a lot of people like the original mini series because they were kids at the time.
I'm old enough to have read the book at the time and when the mini series came out i thought it was absolute garbage.

Will watch it for completion, but i always found the 2nd part a drag, in all its forms.
Trailer looks alright, nothing unexpected but.... that's faithful to the story O_o.

Superb trailer.

Hoping it's a little more narratively consistent this time round. I liked Part 1 for what it was but it was so tonally inconsistent. I get that the studio wanted to cross as many age gaps as possible and that humour offers the levity required to do that, but it took me out of it from the start. As soon as your audience laughs collectively, the fears gone for most of them.

Off to see it tonight - Double Bill with Chapter 1, should be a good evening.

Would love to do that but just going on Saturday is costing a bomb and that's for one movie...child care aint cheap.

Rumours of a super cut from the director, recut with both movies jumping back and forth in time like the original mini series.

I wanted to go and see that in imax tonight but I have work in the morning and at my age I need my sleep. 20 years ago me is ashamed at what I’ve become.

The mini series was gash, I much preferred the 2017 remake.

Yes, the clown was a bit too hammy and they overdid the jump scares but I particularly enjoyed the subtle changes (like how they introduced Bev) compared to the book.

Wish I was going to see it tomorrow. It’s my birthday but the wife is too scared! :(

Really liked it but didn't love it like I did the first. It was CGI and jump scare overload. Plus some of the humour pulled me out of the tension a bit. That said, it was much better than most other mainstream horror movies released in the last few years.

This film was all kinds of bad. It's like a repeat of the first one. It's not scary at all (in fact it's silly with many people laughing at what i think were meant to be scary scenes), boring, too long and just wish i hadn't bothered. Worse than the first by a long shot. 3/10. Could have been ~30 or more minutes shorter.

@SixTwoSix you're watching the wrong horrors if you think this is better than most of the releases in the past two years! Wowza.

Watched it today. The previous one was decent and felt like a "Stand by Me" style horror crossover. Whereas this one was more "Hot Tub Time Machine".

It didn't really have anything going for it. For such a long film it was actually quite shallow. Just lots of repetition for each character. It ended up being quite tiring by the end of it all.

With that said I think both films failed in making Pennywise an interesting bad guy. He's got the look, but there's no psychology there. I kept thinking a Heath Ledger Joker kind performance in the form of Pennywise would have been awesome.

Been trying to figure out why the adults would even be afraid of pennywise when they essentially bitch slapped the **** out of him at the end of the first movie as kids. Probably wait til its available "digitally" to see it.

It’s not really a horror film as it is more funny than scary. Alrhough pennywise parts were generally really good i agree with the poster above that they should have developed his character a bit more like the joker.

Should clarify I mean mostly mainstream horror, I'm open to suggestions but the last couple of years hasn't felt great apart from the TV series Haunting Of Hill House.

Actually, I've just googled the last few years of horror and there have been a few good films, just thought they were older for some reason - Incident in a Ghost land, Quiet Place, Us, Brightburn.

Have a look at Possum. Decent horror.

Been meaning to see it for a while, he's one of my favorite actors.

It was alright, Chapter 2 I mean not It from 2 years ago as I thought that was very good, but it was too long, Chapter 2 not the first one. Stupid name confusing me.
