I am doing an IT a level, this come in single award and dual award flavours.

For A2 there are 9 units, for single award you have to do 3 out of the 9 but they must be one of five which are designed for single award.

For the dual award you must do 6 of any of the units.

The problem is, the school made me do a unit from the dual award section by mistake, in which I got a B. On tuesday they told me this and now I have to do another unit, which is 60 hours of teaching and lots of coursework (10,000 word assignment) by 10th of May.
Now this seems ridiculous, has anyone had a similar situation happen to them before?
I have asked the school to tell the exam board about the problem, and am waiting for their response.
 
The 10,000 word part is at least POSSIBLE in that time frame... the 60 hours of teaching just isnt gonna happen. Make a BIG fuss about this and kick off big style. Dont just let them fob you off... someone has messed up major style and it shouldnt just be sorted by YOU being dumped on.

Asking you to do 60 hours of teaching in what amounts ot maybe 3 weeks is just stupid. At most i bet you could do maybe 10 hours in a week unless you were a full time teacher doing 6 hours a day for 5 days a week ( unlikely ).

My gf is doing a PGCE in further ed teaching and she averages about 8 hours a week teaching usually. So 60 hours in 3 weeks is just stupid talk by them.
 
Indeed, had something similar to this happen with my GCSE Double award in ICT. We had done the course all the way through, completed all the coursework in the first year... then it came to the second year, 3 months before the final deadline, and they told us we had done 2/3 units completely wrong becuase our teacher was a total tool. 2 Years work and new learning in three months and an exam retake later, still managed an A , but it was bloody hard. All becuase some teacher or another couldnt get themselves organised.
Education these days is a total joke in some cases.

All i can say really is make a fuss, doesnt sound like it will be possible , but good luck if you do try, and hope you can make something at least of this.

Youll live, just put some hardcore time in ;)

Just take it up with the proper authorities/people at college. THis sint your fault and in now way is it fair to be dumped on you
 
Do as much of it as you can and contact the exam board about it and any unis you have applied to. It's ridiculous that the school has made such a ridiculous cockup but at the end of the day you'll probably have to do it anyway.

Blimey, forgot about this,
Anyway, the head of IT claims he can delay them for upto 2 weeks in admin to buy me more time, considering I have other subjects too, it's pretty difficult.
Tried kicking off but it's kinda hard with just me on the course, if there were 10-15 of us, then it would be a sight to see.
