Is it me or do all Irish people sound exactly the same with a slight change in pitch and maybe tempo.....

What do you think?

It's you. Dublin, Cork, Galway, Donegal and Northern accents couldn't be any more different. I can spot the difference a mile away although it's probably easy for me to say. I have to laugh when I'm on a night out in England and some girls ask me, "So are you from Dublin?" Ummmm, no

Although they can sound similar, but that's like comparing a few geordies / scousers / brummies / cockneys. There is definately differences, I have a few Northern Irish friends, and can certainly tell them apart, and tell them aprat from ROI accents... usually.

i find theres a huge difference between the north and south irish accent apart from that ive never really heard people from different areas within the two but id imagine its much like england full of different accents. I find the NI accent to sound a lot like an english person with an accent if you see what i mean where as the ERIE accent is totally different much more clear cut

There are massive differences between Irish accents. The wife's dad is from Co. Mayo & sounds completely different to a lad at work who is from Dublin, who in turn sounds totally different to a mate of mine from Bangor!

It's definitely just you. I'm from Ireland and I think the Northern accent couldn't be more different to the Cork accent (for example).

Its worse on holiday when everyone asks if your english.
Thats why the brits have such a bad reputation when going on holidays. Its all us irish acting the maggot and blaming ye!

The geezer in IT Crowd is not even Irish. I'm sure I heard that on the Radio, Jo Wiley or something, said he talks without an accent, normally. But I could be wrong.

I thought he was? And the creator didnt really want to cast him because hes cast irish blokes in all his other shows.
