It looks liek the Wii is starting to get some "proper" games.

The godfather is a game I've recently purchased and it works fantastically well with the Wii controller. If more games make such good use of the Wiimote I may end up turning to the Wii for "proper" or "serious" gaming more often than my 360!

If you have a Wii I highly recommend buying it. Kororinpa is also pretty good :)

How does the control method work then?

it's used for jabs and punches in fighting. You can also grab people by the neck, throw them about, punch them, pick them up, choke them, shove them against walls, chuck them through windows etc just as you would do if you were there in person. It's very intuitive and I am most impressed by it :)

Wow, I just watched the first video I posted in full. This game looks wicked. I am very impressed with how they have implemented the controls.
It's supurb, and it shows what great potential the Wii has for "serious" games.

I've said in other threads it's a game I really have an eye on, but lack time, and sorta the funds, to buy it. I'm put off by it being a PS2 port, as I think it's just rewarding developers to give them money for a game that has been lazily developed graphically, with the focus being on controls because they feel that's all that needs to be done. But then, if it's a genuinely good game, I shouldn't miss out on it.

At least if they're able to churn these games out, which demonstrate the Wii as beyond a gimmick, then we'll at least see some properly developed, groud-up titles and not PS2 clones. I can't wait for the PS2 to die because of this! :p

I couldn't care less about graphics, although they're not that bad on Godfather. The developers deserve my money for the amount of thought and effort that went into the controls.
