It made it to production!

I swear i've seen something like that before and it's been on sale for ages. I'll try and find it. It's on one of those 'Gadget' websites.

Well there was a thread with a video about it before but it wasn't available at the time, dunno if it came out later. I'd be tempted to buy it if it didn't look so fragile - be in bits within 5 mins no doubt :p

I fly a lot of RC planes and heli's and have had that model for over a year, its good fun, you need it light though, mine, i have 2 one is made out of EPP foam and the other is out of 3 and 6 mm depron,. they fly fine on water, grass air etc, novelty, but i am getting shot of mine in the next week or so and putting the equipment in another plane.

But there are loads of threads on them at rcuniverse / rcgroups

there called miss hanger one, pyranha etc. loads of names, lots of different makers out there etc. I have the plans as well if anyone wants to build one.

cost wise, all depends, i already have a expensive transmitter, then your receiver your servo's x3, batteries, speed controller etc etc all depends like everything in life, you can buy cheap and you can buy expensive.

When i am not doing my main job I build a few items for the RC hobbie people, i build models for people, build electronic items for people within RC, advise etc, If you had nothing to start with and wanted a model that flew, not like that one posted above, then you would be looking around the £250 approx mark but it depends on what you want to spend and what if anything you already have.

This is how they look.

the last one is my latest one, the one im getting shot of, you know what its like, you have something then after a while the novelty wears of and you want something else, I have about 17 models in my garage that I fly and are ready and about 5 that are still in the building stages and there are RC shows coming up and you can be assured ill be adding to my fleet.

Keeps me of the streets

Cheers for the e-mail!

Sounds really cool. I already have some radio gear (cheap stuff), I might well seriously look into this, it looks rather mad!

What is the depron material and where can it be bought?

I'm guessing the drawing you sent that is divided into 21 sections is to allow printing off onto a4?

Ta.

yes thats right, just print all sheets out and then make your model etc,

depron, well not sure, i know ebay has some or at least did, look in the yellow pages, people that make those chip shop trays are usually made out of depron as well. make sure if you build one you have some up and right thrust built into the engine / motor, it needs to be light and your battery needs really to be a Li-Po around a 3 cell of 350 mah as plenty of power and very light. Also, choice of prop is important depending on your motor, battery and esc
