Until today, when we beat the French for the 2012 Olympics - a truely great day.:D

I took great pleasure in telling my French colleages that we didn't actually want the 2012 Games. We only applied so that the French wouldn't get them :)

In return, I was told that they didn't mind losing, but they hated losing to the English.

Oops I forgot there were Frenchies on the forum! I didnt mean to gloat;):p I was living in Paris at the time - it seemed like there was absolute outrage, my flatmates were really angry with me!
 
The Froggies get excited over silly things it must be said. ;) Don't worry gloat all you want I'm completely indifferent to it :) As long as people don't start being generally abusive or derogatory in a purposefully vitriolic way I have no issues at all! :D

I neither celebrated nor boo'ed when it all happened. To be honest I don't think I want to be in London in 2012 - it'll be a right PITA. But then again I care very little for such things. I understand and can see why it could be a big deal - maybe I'm just generally disaffected by things around me.
 
Well personally I think it would have been the best in New York, imagine a rainy Olympics in London/Paris. Then again hopefully global warming will really have set it and it will be nice and sunny by then.;) :cool:

I am actually because i think they are very passionate about football, however I wouldnt mind if the French won, they are a very solid team indeed, would be a cool way for Zidane to retire.

Come on? Do you really think he is going to retire? I reckon they will keep playing him lol!

He will end up being one of those players that never leaves the pitch! How old are the players in the French team anyway?!

Not much going on at Stratford as far as I can see.. They are still working on the underground extension and euro-link...
