Italian/Pizza Restaurants - Central London

Well, I quite like Pizza Express, their pizzas are good and the quality is good as well. That aside you can also get some good deals thru Tesco ClubCard and discounts.

Unless someone recommends one which isn't very often this where I will go.

At that price, I think Polpo, Polpetto or da Polpo would be your best bet

As oli said; Polpo, Polpetto and da Polpo are what your after or Mele e Pere, Duck Soup are both Soho based and about the right price. Trullo in Islington and Zucca in Bermondsey and are a little over but if you sensible are great value. Bocca Di Lupo in Soho again is a bit over, but push the budget to up to £40 a head and you can eat very well there. Franco Manca is a great mini chain, none very central but they do the best pizza in town and are cheaper than any of the big chains.

I suppose if you must go to Fire and Stone, Zizzi, Ask or Pizza Express then do, but you will get bland food, at prices similar to the above without eating in some of London's better Italian restaurants

Indeed, they're safe bets in towns/suburbs where you are not fortunate enough to have much choice, but central london has one of the most diverse collection of reasonably priced restaurants in the Western world!

Thanks for the extra input everyone, I didn't realise Fire&Stone was a chain, I've never encountered one before... I'll have a look at da Polpo as it seems the most conveniently located. :)

Can't remember what it's called but there's s lovely one on the corner of the street of leicster square as you walk there from covent garden... Not the best explanation of location I know, but it's all I can remember (even though I was there only a couple of days ago...)
