You can get the phone for £300 on an 18 month £30/m contract. If they're selling for this much you could make £260 just from selling the phone. Then you're still left with a virtually free contract sim card.

A friend at work bought 3 or 4 on release day, sold them all on ebay for profit, which paid for his own one that he's getting.

Which is what im planning to do...ordered a 32gb from apple and getting one as an upgrade from tmobile end of this month...well depending on when and if they get stock in...if i do get one from tmobile then its going straight up for sale unopened and boxed...might as well make some money from it:p

His tip was, as dodgy as it sounds, open the auction up to international bidders.

The first one he sold went for only very little more than you can buy them for as it was a uk sale. But as it's not been released in some countries yet some people are willing to pay quite a bit more for them.

That's utterly bonkers, although I've heard of 32GB 3GS going for well over £700 recently so not entirely out of character.

I'd rather get one of those htc desire (?) with the 1ghz processors tbh :p

Yep id love to get one of those....oh wait i did have one then promptly sold it as i wasnt that impressed with it after the few days honeymoon period had finished:p:D

And doesnt work if you hold it the wrong way.

:(

I share an office with a Nexus One user, and my boss has a HTC Desire. I got my iPhone 4 on launch day and they're still taking the wee-wee of its problems :(.

Still, Sellotape seems to have fixed the signal issue for me :D

i don't know whats more hilarious in its inanity, the fact that Apple Released a phone that you can't hold in a certain way or it stops working, or that you're happy with the fact that you had to sellotape your £800 phone just so it works.

I think there have been about 10 new HTC's released since that model so far this week alone. ;)

no matter how many new releases HTC've come out with since the desire's release, it doesn't change the fact that it's currently the second best Android phone available, second only to the Samsung Galaxy S, and only inferior in spec anyway.
