'The tyres' are fair as everyone uses the same.
Changing the tyres because some teams complain is unfair on those who don't have issues with them.
but driver ability differs and the 'walking on eggshells' tyres only hurts the drivers with more ability, it doesn't stop a dominant car as Vettel has shown the last few years.
BUT even if they fix the tyre issue there is still the under-fueling issue which again limits the most skilled drivers by forcing them into an artificially slow pace.
The biggest issue I have with fuel/tyres is that the most skilled drivers can't 'overdrive' a car and compete with a faster one, they just have to settle for the natural pace of their car running at 80% of its capability or something, driver skill has to a large extent been removed from the sport.
