This is getting on my nerves now.

my system is as per my sig other than i've had to lower my CPU clock to 3.5ghz (which is prime95 stable) and i've dropped my graphics card overclock to 700/1750/1110 which is pretty near stock.

And despite this my games are always crashing. Need For Speed Undercover always crashes about 30 secs into game play now that i have reached a certain stage in the game and i think GRID is doing the game.

Its really getting on my nerves. Any help?

Drivers all up to date? Bluescreen crashes or complete lock ups? Got any logs or error messages we can look at? Is the card furmark stable? Are temps fine? We need some more info!

sorry

Drivers are all up to date, graphics card running the lastest WHQL drivers, sound card up to date, windows up to date, Direct X up to date etc.

When it crashes, i've had bluescreens, lock ups and sometimes it just returns me to the dekstop, and i can quickly see "this program has stopped working etc" message.

The card is at as good as stock clocks and is furmark stable.

As for tempertures, the card is gaming at about 85...ish and in furmark 105...ish (set to stress test after 300 seconds) and thats with the fan at 100%
as for the CPU, about 95...ish under primre95

Ok, i understand that that is hot, but that is under stress, its not that hot all the time

That is very hot though, even for a stress test, take the side panel off and point a normal box fan into the side panel opening, make sure all the components on the inside are dust free, I would not be surprised if the crashes were heat related.

The thing isGRID was playing fine until now, and now it crashes at the same spot everytime i have finished the race that i am doing.

NFS was the same too, it played fine and now suddenly that i have got to a certain point in the game it just crashes after so many seconds into the game

It could be at that particular point in the game the rendering is particurlarly intensive and could spike the cpu/gpu, get everything back to stock (or better yet, underclock some) and all settings on low and see if you can get beyond that point, right now I am still convinced it's a heat issue.

[edit] Get rivatuner and and log hardware info to a file and post it here once it crashes

everything at stock

(that also means the CPU settings are at stock, so HT enabled, turbo enabled etc. I normally had all of those disabled)

graphics card hit 85
cpu hit 74 on hotest core.

I can see what you are saying about spiking it, but its after i finished the race when its displaying the results, surely that can't be as intensive as rendering the race itself.

Will try putting everything to low.

Reseated the CPU cooler and with the side panel off under prime95 now hitting 67 on the hottest core.

Dunno what it will do with the side panel off.

Going to try memtest

Start->run eventvwr.exe as far as i can remember. In Rivatuner there should be a little arrow below and to the right of where your card is listed, click that and it's the furthest right option. Sorry can't give you any more specifics right now, still in work right now 8(
