**** It's Baaaaaaaack!! ****

Yeah a 1080p Freesync monitor with this rig is a bit of a joke really... at the very least you want G-Sync, and ideally 1440p to get the best experience, perhaps even ultrawide. Yeah it's not cheap, but it's an £1100 GPU, what did you expect lol?!

It seems that the Dell S2716DG is the favoured monitor at 1440 with G-Sync etc... It's too expensive for me tbh so I'm considering returning it and cutting my losses.

You could just pick up a 2560x1440 nomrlal monitor (non G-Sync, non Freesync) if you don't want to spend the extra on G-Sync. I'm using an old 60hz Dell 2711 monitor which is perfectly fine with the system although I'm sure if I tried g-sync I'm sure I would want one.

If you are dropping 2k on a brand new super computer then no, that's not perfectly fine.

It's usable but kinda pointless. Pick up a second hand swift if you must and your budget is overstretched.

Thanks for the replies. I've got a second hand HP monitor until I make my final decision.

I'm yet to see this PC up and running as it's arrived not able to be switched on. In all honesty I expected more from spending that amount of money but I assume it's down to the courier service and not OCUK. That said, I still had to pay £15 courier so I'm still miffed about it to be honest.

The cooler is loose in the tower and after doing a bit of research, it looks like it may have come unseated from the mobo.im hoping that customer services will come back to me ASAP to resolve.

Think many would say get the graphics power and the g-sync is optional. Everything is already super smooth with the old Dell and v-sync on :D.
Thing is it's not down to budget for me. Monitors are not really like CPU,s and processors I don't think. As they're so big I prefer not to sell them on and don't like buying new things unless the old one is broken :D... or can sell the old stuff on.

Also, when I read about the current monitors they often seem compromised. My Dell 2711 was £1000 new although I paid £800 I think when they started coming down in price. THe Dell G-sync for example can be had for £400-£500 but often see comments about the quality issues ? To me it seems like they're built down to a price these days, like budget washing machines. I'd like to see a more premium 27" 1400p g-sync panel as to me that actually seems cheap.
I did think about picking one up on a sale but each time decide "nah", maybe later. I've only kept my eye on the Dell 27" g-sync and been hoping a more premium unit would become available butjust noticed the Asus £799 unit so maybe that's a bit more premium?

My other monitor is a Dell 2408, yep, dating from 2008 :)

Does anyone know if this setup should've come with any free games? I was just reading another thread about getting free games with certain hardware (specifically the i7) but I didn't get anything. I got an email with invoice attached and that's it! I've checked my spam folder and nothing there.

Does anyone know?

I also did not get anything with mine.

Think you should have got an email if memory serves me correctly but maybe these weren't part of the deal in Dec (picked mine up on black Friday). The games were a bit naff anyway and wish I had sold them on for a few quid. Just found the email and the email came from overclockers with the word FREE in the subject line and name of the games, ie 'FREE Warhammer End Times - Vermintide & Rainbow Six Siege PC Games'
