Its cold, so time to kill another PC I recon

Hey... Shhhh.. Insanity...

Yes, ok I do run my own computer business, so yes, I have access to more PCs than most, and no, I dont care whether you believe a single word I say... Many dont, many do. Thats how it is.

So, did you kil a PC, or maybe a new WR was had? :)

When i get to Fatrakoons, we'll tell you, but it'll be one or the other... We get an Aircooled WR, or the bench rig get's it!

Jeez... Go to sleep you guys!

Nah, Im going to leave it as-is till thin-bloke gets here... We'll do or die.

Might so nuts actually... Got a few systems that clock like buggery and while its so cold, its got to be worth its while just for the hell of it...

Winchester, XP17, Barton 2500, opty 144 all are clocking much higher than I have had before... Partly due to being a fairy cup cake chicken TBH, but Ive had them a while now, so we will play with each other until something blows ( Fnarr )

Hey Insanity.

What was the name of the BIOS you had in yours?

Where did you get it?

I have dug out several backup BIOSes to play with too!

Merlin, TicTac, Mantra to name a few...

The highest I can volt it to is 2.0v...We could do with a bit more.
The RAM is ok... I still got one stick of the 3500 and of course if we want to FSB up I got load of 4400... Like I showed you before though... We get high numbers with the multi over the FSB, so who cares about benching as such, lets just get the MHZ

I still got the CPU and Mobo you gave me... Its your Mobo and My CPU Im using at the mo, so we got backups when we kill it.

When we kill it? - Hmmm... Mr suicide talking there???

Dig out what you can when you can 'afore ye come

I was using the Merlin BIOS to get highest OcUK Aircooled AXP (non-Mobile)... you aint on the board chubby... LOL!

Anywaaaaaayyy... We'll see what we can get on that table. I wanna prove a point to certain... ahem... people.

check your mail mate.

No, that board you gave me, is in jordans PC I think?

One of them is anyway? - dont know which ones which anymore?

I know which CPU is which though! - Erm, was your the 0310 and mine the 0304... or the 0308??? Oh hell, no ok, I dont know which CPU is which either???

I'll be heading to FatRakoon's on Monday night... so by Tues you should know...

We'll hopefully have a few Heatsinks to try out (Sonic Tower, Big Typhoon, Titan Vanessa L (@Ka0ticMind, hopefully You can get it RMSD), SP-90 etc), and some big-ass fans... Papst 172x150mm, 120mm Delta EHE, 80mm Delta EHE & SHE, a decent PSU (That's a hint Chubby! Buy one!). We have a handful of known clocking chips (DLT3C 0308's and 0310's) Most of all we are hoping for some really low ambients. I set the 2623 score for air on 10-15c ambient, so with a bit of luck...:D Will also bring the TCCD-F and BH6 down (and I think FatRakoon has some BH-5 lurking around) as well as the OCZ DDR Booster.

We'll push the hardware till it breaks (It's Old-Tech now, but we'll give it a damn good send-off... the way NF7's are supposed to go out:eek:!)... purely suicide & validation, no S-pi unless we are feeling lucky... (I can tweak for speed a lot better than I can for Pi times). And after that, we might slap some water on and see if we can get no1 spot on weescott's table for it. I'll try to get some piccies of the rig's cooling and the CPU-z in the same piccie, so no-one can cry foul too.

u guys are mad,

as the young ppl say ( or said )

Respect !!

:D

You figured it out quicker than most!

Whether we get the record or not, it'll be fun trying, and some trusty old chips will be winging their way to silicon heaven in the process, LOL!

Forgot to add to that list, will be a Swiftech NB heatsink, so we can really leather the FSB up (BH-5 & TCCD-F)... I just have to find most of this kit to take down with me now!

I just wonder if FatRakoon's Missus knows just *how* loud these fans are going to be at full tilt at silly o'clock in the morning;)

Also got an 0304 somewhere, but...

Decent PSU? - you cheeky runt. Nowt wrong with QTEC, after all, if its sparks were after.... LOL... Seriously, I got a couple to consider mate... UltraX, Hyper, Fortron Source

Yeah, its had a good life, its done its tour of duty several times now, and it still more than holds its own against the big boys, but its time to lay it to rest. Better to live like a tiger than to die like a worm ( I dare anybody to mention a Worm-skin rug, I just dare you )

BH-5 - Yup, thats in there now.

I have been running it at 2500 on and off for the last few days... As requested.

Should be a buzz if nothign else!

Yeah she does.

She was on the brink of leaving me last time I connected the Delta 120's.

So, better get her bags packed before we start yeah.

FatRakoon... any chance you can crank it to a higher stable (24/7 if you can) setting? Want to get it used to some volts before I get there and shove 2v+ up it's chocolate wizwag...... say 1.7-1.8v for now?

Oh... hope you've got plenty of AS5 after reading that Heatsink list:p

@everyone reading this drivel...
Do you have a link to a Vcore mod for the NF7-s rev 2.0? Tried Googling for one, can't seem to find it anymore...

LMFAO... she'll start throwing things at me!

If I could get there, I would! But work say's no...

So, pray to whatever deity/entity/Savoury Snack you believe in for Brass Monkey weather on Monday night in the vicinity of the North Wales Coast...:D

24/7???

FFS, Im having trouble getting it 10 minute stable and your asking 24/7?

Its already at 1.75v as it is... FWIW its taken 2v just fine due to the extreme chilly-willy factor, but I have had to bring it back down a couple of days ago.

The BIOS will take it to 2.1v

Running out quickly actually mate... Not sure how much I do have left in my big OCZ syringe / srynge / Shrinj / Tube but I do have some fairly good homemade gunk, that I have been using in a 5/50 mix with AS5 and its actually very good stuff... Got plenty of that, and I will remix some more up if need be. Hell, if it comes to the crunch, we got loads of Ultrabrite!!! LOL

We got access to 2.1V in this BIOS. RAM can go up too, although with the last death-run I did with an NF7, I did get the RAM soldered to the Mobo, so thats a tad too much Volts up its jacksie to cope with...Id rather NOT do that again... Frightening when that went cos the stench was well nasty.

Vmem mod is not easy though. Its the very same as the one I did for the KD7 actually, but that only gives us 2.0v - As I said, thats in the BIOS anyway.
we will need to desolder pin 19 of the voltage regulator, and whoping in a resistor.... There a cap right next to a RAM slot and its bloody awkward... Not worth worrying too much about it mate... We will cross that bridge if we get to it, but I dont think we will need to?

And thats only when you get here...

She'll be worse in the night mate... I guarantee it... Kids in school etc... They'll probably love it.

got to shoot off... Por... Erm, Educational documentaries to watch.

Later dude.

That'll do mate, we'll only need it right up there for a few hours at most. just don't want to "shock" the chip by slamming it straight up. Should have bedded in nicely by Monday.

That'll do to... 2.1v should be enough... we'll try to avoid soldering the RAM in the socket this time.. I'm not too fussed on FSB this time, though it would be nice. My old board (with the "-=Merlin=-" BIOS) is good to 250+ FSB on crappy CH-6 RAM, so some TCCD-F & BH-5 and the Booster (Who needs Vdimm mod's, and BH-5 can take over 3v if cooled right (Delta 80mm)) shouldn't be a problem. Not bothered about async either, it's not like we are running Pi or using the rig. Still, I fancy tight timings@230+ just for kicks n giggles. The CH-6 is expendable if needs be. That can also take some volts (I'll dig around, see what I can take it to). You got a Multimeter kicking around? The Booster aint been used in a while, and will probably need calibrating.

I've started getting the bit's together... Her Ladyship thinks I've lost the plot... I had to explain it as "Drag Racing for PC's"

I'll see if I can dig out a few tubes of AS5... I need to keep some for re-mounting when I get back here though...

The Titan Vanessa is getting posted directly to your's tomorrow, via RMSD... look out for it mate. I suspect Her Ladyship will pinch it for her PC when she clap's eyes on it :p

Dig out the Watercooling kit too mate, and the Socket A blocks I gave you if it aint in a rig... we'll have a dabble with that if/after we get the Air record...
