its cracking the flags

It's ridiculously nice here, 75-80F with a nice sea breeze  <3 Santa Barbara weather - sucks for all you other US dudes.

Up in Bakersfield where I go twice a month it is pretty regularly 100-110F but it's desert heat - epic for sitting out by a pool in 85F weather at 11pm at night :D

I drove through 42 degree C heat last year in Russian - my god, that was nasty

when i was in rostov on don it was about 42 degrees c and the buses were sweaty hell holes :(

It was still 102 deg F here at 6 pm, everywhere has sold out of air con units, one Home Depot we tried sold 165 in 4 hours.

My problem is i work night shift in a climate controlled room at 32 deg C. Then i come home and try and get some sleep and its 90 odd degrees :(

edit : yes i know i keep talking in Celsius and Fahrenheit but my brains fried at the moment .

pfft ive just been basking voluntarily in heat like that in Kefalonia.

Granted, it is bit nicer when you are on holiday and always have either a pool or the sea to jump into.

Sat in a metal trailer in south Texas right now, thankfully its only 34c with 60% humidity on the coast. One of the two aircon units has broken as well so its desk fans all round. Further in land its pushing 40c in some places, then with the heat index due to high humidity its even more.

It kinda feels like the heat in the Predator 2 movie, everyone walking about with huge sweat patches, changing your shirt at lunchtime is a necessity

It was 31C outside at 11PM last night.

It's currently 37C/98F, which according to their fancy measurements "feels" like 44C/111F with the humidity, still a few hours until it peaks for the day.

I'm actually tempted to try and cook an egg on the pavement later :D

I think I would actually die if i was subjected to 44oc . Add in a high pollen count and that is my idea of hell.

Worrked 12h a day in 42-44oc heat with 90+ humidity. truley ludicrous, stepped out of the aircon unit and would just drip with sweat within 10 seconds.

real niiiice... not

My friend has been tormenting me for the last week or two about the heat in the Chicago area. She's apparently been melting for a while with over 100 degrees a few times recently. Most disappointing when it feels like autumn here!

I loved that, although the change from being inside the 18 degree cooled box to the 45 degree desert within a couple of steps took some getting used to. Supervising in that heat wasn't too bad either, although it made me mighty sleepy! Couldn't have the aircon on in the cars because it sucked too much power from the engines, which would result in getting stuck more often...

Man up! Be glad you don't live in the south. It's like that every day from May til October :p
Although this past couple of weeks in New Orleans have been a lot cooler than normal and a lot cooler than the rest of the country which is weird. I'm guessing the 6 days of non-stop thunderstorms help with that.
