It's getting real hard!

It's complete!!! And am I proud :D

The OcUK fans turned up today, they are so good!! Silent and work so well.

With the blocks repasted, I forgot the cpu but hey ho.. sitting happily at a idle temp of 25c.

Was hoping for a slightly better sticker, maybe with the OcUK logo on it.

So I left last night with no tubing from the gpu and rad to the pump. So today I had to make them up, also redo my GPU to 120mm Rad tube as the last was awful! :D

I was getting carried away and pictures got forgotten sadly. I am getting much better at this bending business!

dzDAlMS.jpg

Had to bend this slightly inwards so that I made good contact with the fitting.

VGUJgRl.jpg

This was my tube running from the rad to the inlet port on the pump, I made a bit of a boo boo which I was really annoyed about as the bends on this were perfect, the size everything on this was amazing! But can you guess what's wrong?

sH2N9xv.jpg

OdM0qD3.jpg

This was the bend from the rad into the drain port.

9NdTxcG.jpg

By this point my fingers were so used to the heat it didn't really matter where I held it!

DxFxbOF.jpg

I then added In my drain port.. Again, something else I didn't think about, wrong tube, this is the outlet, so it doesn't really drain at all.. I only realised this when I had to try and drain the loop as I had one leak where I forgot to tighten a fitting. I also added my water temp sensor onto the end with the valve open so it will read the temp.

Now to get this bend without getting the blue thing stuck I had to do it without which went.. Badly.. So here we are, I purposely kinked it as there was no way it was holding it's own without being really flat, I'm still getting a good flow rate and it's not causing me any issues. But i'm not happy with it by any means.

And BAM! They were done!

And then time to bleed and fill the loop. I had to ramp up the pump from 2 up to 4 as it wasn't getting enough flow to complete the loop but everything is fine now.

And now the pictures can talk..

My lighting hasn't turned up yet but that's an easy install once here and Pexon hasn't got back to me yet, he did say he was pretty busy so i'll let him off ;)

But other than them two little things, it's finished infact i'm typing this from it now!

Temps are much better now and I'm really, really, really happy with how it's gone.

Nice work matey, your tubing looks amazing. You should be well chuffed for a great looking build. And now your parents can sleep soundly at night too ;) lol

Thanks. It did take a while but it was worth it in the end. Haha, they will indeed. I'm sure it won't be long until I change something though :D

Looks very nice!, some of those bends are rediculously tight. Id never get it done if mine were like that. Nice work!
just started doing hard-line for mine yesterday. Halfway through now :).

In all honesty the bends weren't that hard, it was just finding a way that they would still look good and not kink or anything.

Excellent build, you've done a cracking job on the bends as hard tubing is certainly a challenge but it has paid off as the rig looks great. I must admit I am a sucker for the black and white colour scheme but this rig certainly does it justice. :)

It will look even better with the LED strips but it has definitely been worth watching this build log :D

Yeah, the LED's should really make the coolant 'pop' and bring the system together as at the moment you can't really see anything through the window.

I wouldn't hesitate to do hardline again, that's for sure! :D

Thanks everyone for the comments. I'll have an update with cabling and LED's in the not to distant future.

Nice to see it finally in all its glory. Some of those bends look perfect! The case itself looks outstanding, one simple mod changed so much! So the hardline was worth it in the end?

You're making me want to go hardline and I haven't even started my normal loop yet! :D

Is hardline worth it? Not really.. Nothing has changed. But, It looks so much nicer that's the reason I done it. My older WC set up worked just as well, well a bit worse but that's the case that's helped with that as the H440 is awful for airflow.

You've made it seem quite fun tbh. it really is quite impressive for a first time. Think I'll go hardline when I go pascal. Planning on swapping out the xfire 7970's any time soon?

It was great fun to do! I'm quite a practical person and like things like this so I did enjoy it.

I downgraded from a 980Ti to these 7970's and I'm going to build a new system when big pascal comes out so I'll upgrade then, new case, new hardline build :D

That's how it gets you, built my first PC maybe 2 years ago, and since then I have pretty much had a constant upgrade itch. It can't be cured!

Tell me about it, I spend so much money on the bloody thing.

Damn man, mine usually last 3-5 years before I can justify upgrading them... Must start looking for better excuses :D

The perks of living at home, paying barely any bills and working full time whilst studying! I have loads of money to spend on crap I don't need :p

A little update, nothing major, but got some light things from the MM and popped them in. It lights up the build well but it doesn't really show to well on camera :(

It's nice to be able to look in there and see it, it was just black before!

IhVw1yy.jpg

Maybe I should put the dust filter into the case, it's quite bad!
RBCpma2.jpg

My air 540 was terrible for dust haha, looking sweet.

I have found that dust filters are not very effective which come with Corsair cases in general. Just looked inside my 780T, let's just say it will be taken oiside to drain and clean out the radiators.

It looked sweet. It's all gone now!

Changing your build already!?!

Sadly.. WC leaked, I got annoyed, put bits up for sale, and going ITX it will also be much more convenient as I don't stay at one place so it'll be easier to move about and no risk of leaking.

As i'm going ITX I thought i'd give a Fury X a try too.. I can't resist upgrading and changing parts :(

Only changing gpu, motherboard and case. Not sure what cooler to put in there yet though.. Rest is staying. I really can't justify x99 which is a real shame.

Damn that's rotten luck :(
Still though, I'm interested in your new ITX build as I was looking to build a small rig next year as well so I might steal some of your ideas :D

Out of curiosity, what was the part that leaked in your old rig?

It was the bottom GPU tube so luckily no damage was done, it just dropped into the bottom of the case.

That sucks mate, hope it didn't do too much damage :( Good to see you're using it as an excuse to upgrade again though :D

Luckily no damage, and the system was off at the time so was pretty happy when I got home from work the next day.

Indeed, I thought so too! :p

I'm going to change this thread name to "Sam's ever evolving PC build thread" :D

The Wade household was presented with lots of PC parts this morning.. Mainly because I bought them all.

My brothers PC, on the left, my 3 parts on the right.

LI2W1F8.jpg

Skip the boring building part.. Towards the end of all my troubles that came with this swap I thought i'd do a little cable management, it's not great but it could be worse.

OSsEvaC.jpg

Here she is all done. I need to get a new CPU cooler but I don't know what to go for yet.

HeVyvwd.jpg

Here you can see just how small the Fury X actually is, I was not expecting it to be that small.

Mmmmm.. Preettyyyy..

Just a tiny up date and the build is done. No more tinkering.

I bought the OcUK tech labs 240mm cooler and wow! I'm really impressed, compared to my H105 that I had, this thing is awesome .

But it is bloody close, there is 1/2mm in the gap between the two rads.

Airflow is great, i'm really surprised.

As far as temps, i've never seen the GPU top 50c, that's in a firestrike bench with the little OC you can add to these w/o voltage control. The CPU is at 4.7ghz and I haven't seen it go over 65c yet. I don't bother with stress tests, I know this is stable so that's just gaming etc. The whole thing idles around 25c.

Yeah tell me about it, I went from a 4690k to the 4790k and well, I don't notice a difference? I do want x99 though. I'll wait for broadwell-E and then go for a 5960x or something with the new GPU's next year.
