Hey everyone,

so after a while of researching and waiting around to go back to uni, it's nearly time for me to actually order my new system!

I have a fairly good idea of most of the things that I want in my spec which I'll list below but there are 2 things that I would appreciate a bit of help with.

1) I'm not completely settled on the case, if anyone has any experience working with the one I've chosen that would be great!

2) I haven't got a CLUE about which motherboard to use, don't mind spending upto £150 on it if necessary.

Thanks for reading through what I've read so far and I'll hugely appreciate any comments and help,

Thanks in advance,

Think your seeing a minority of vocal people talking about the ASRock, it's a superb motherboard, one of the best I've ever had.

Also the case, from my researching, is apparently excellent, very easy to build with, great cable management options.

Depends really what you plan on doing in the future. Personally would definitely go with the ASRock Mobo, but if SLi is an option in the future, I would get the best PSU you can afford, not really sure on power requirements for nVidia cards and if the 650 or even 750 would be enough for 570's in Sli.

Nice way to spend a student loan lol. To be honest I think a desktop is pointless at uni, I started off with a desktop but I came home most weekends and was stuck without a PC, unless I bought it home with me. So I doubt a laptop, however, I neglected to look into the specs properly, finally at the end of my second year I settled on a netbook, small enough to carry to lectures and good enough to check emails inbetween lectures. Have you considered an iPad2 (or 3 when its out) you could get an iPad2 and a fairly decent desktop setup

Well Jay794 it's not a student loan I'm spending it's called a job ;) I've got an iPad already and if you looked at the spec you'd clearly see it's a gaming rig otherwise I wouldn't be spending £270 on a graphics card ;) also going into my final year and my MacBook isn't going to be upto scratch when doing my final year project, I don't have the luxury of going home every weekend since it's 200 miles from uni, anyway rant over and thanks Reaper 392 for the advice :)

Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 & OCZ Z-Series 850W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply, would be my choice...
I have this mobo, and had no problems.OC's easily and obviously you get the Gen3 for future upgrades. Also the PSU is gold rated so good on power consumption, and gives you room to upgrade/expand !!!

Cheers Ak!ta does everything else look compatible to you? This is my first proper build from scratch so just want to make sure everything will agree when I'm spending this sort of money :)
