It's On! Floyd Mayweather - Conor McGregor **No discussions of illegal streams**

He did well for the first 4 rounds, he's so use to MMA where bouts are over pretty quickly that he just ran out of puff. Sure if he managed to sustain for the full 12 it would have been down to points, and he was winning in that regard at least for the first half.

Think it was more of the case that connor was too gassed to defend him self. So a stoppage had to be done.
Exactly. He wasn't throwing punches and couldn't even keep his arms up to defend himself. He was finished so why allow him to carry on taking more and more punches.

For the first half? What fight did you watch!!?

lol seriously?? He wasn't anywhere close to winning if it went to points. Sure he got a few punches in but Mayweather played him like a fiddle. Just waited till he was out of steam then picked him off.

Wasn't a bad fight by all means but the conclusion was foregone ie Mayweather winning in the end.

Just glad I didn't shell out the £20 for the fight lol.

Wonder what circus is in the pipeline next?? :p

Let's not get carried away that Conor did well, he lasted 10 rounds etc, he got toyed with by a shot 40 year old retired fighter who was once the best p4p boxer. Mayweather is done as a top level boxer, his timing, speed, power, accuracy and reflexes are gone.

Floyd that fought berto 2.5 years ago would have stopped him inside 5 rounds and Conor wouldn't have landed a punch. Floyd a few years before that would have hurt him bad.

Conor was gassing after the 2nd round, floyd rope a doping him was pretty obvious and like they said it was the game plan to take advantage of a inexperienced boxer in Conor.

Mayweather was laughing the entire way through, just walking him down. He even refused water in the corner and spent the time usually for advice smiling into the camera. Nothing more than a sparing match with a bum.

Pretty much what I seen. So much for the McGregor power and left hand.

You were right about one being a boxer and one not? Well done, i don't think that crossed anyone's else's mind at any point...ever.

my first post was the actual outcome of the fight also how the would fight each other from the start. also what will happen next.obvious rematch.mega money.

Which wasn't the one I quoted, so bleh :p

No real chance of a rematch, it would be down to Mayweather to step into the octagon and that's not gonna happen.

It was a good fight, CM was a lot better than many of the professional fighters FM fought and beat during his career even when accounting for the age and conditioning disparities. For a first professional boxing match and against one of or the world's best former in-weight class fighter it was a really good effort.

If CM now moved to boxing and started working towards a title match in say 24-36 months time after 10 or so professional fights and further stamina conditioning he would be a formidable contender. He has the mindset to fight and win titles.

Given the potential money in it, I could see this being a very sound path for CM to take. Heck FM would probably train him. They will already be contemplating the film rights lol.

Back to the fight, CM knew and you could already see he had accepted the fact before hand, most notably by his reaction when it was stopped and after, that if the fight went the distance he would run out of energy and risked stoppage.

If McGregor is the best the UFC has to offer then I guess so.

Imagine what Thurman or Golovkin would have done to him.

McGregor got stopped. The only reason the fight went on so long was because Mayweather wanted it to. Who knows if McGregor would make a decent fighter, but from what I've seen I'd say no better than anyone fighting at club level.
