It's raining men

Trying rebutting a work place grievance claim for racial harassment in the UK if you deliberately mispronounce the name of a colleague for comedic effect when their name has its origins in another nation/ culture.

I... erm... eh? How am I supposed to respond to this? Are we doing role play now and you’re my HR guy? Is that what’s happening here?

If your an average white guy and have no cards to play, you have no chance. You could put on a wig and then you have a transvestite card. But I'm not sure it trumps the race card.

Look I'm not claiming its the most egregious form of racism but it just seems to me that deliberately misproncing a foreign sounding name for comedic effect is just a little racist.

The HR reference was just an example to illustrate a situation where even relatively minor (deliberate) racism can expect to be challenged.

Humor me.

Is it possible to see if any other planes were able to have dropped this guy?

Say the plane spotter who tracked it and "saw the body fall" was actually a plant/cover and this was a murder from another aircraft?

As I said, humor me... were there any other planes?

To give you an idea, this is a quick screen grab of the skies above us, as received by a couple of Raspberry Pis located on the east coast of Essex. There are literally hundreds of planes above us throughout the day (far fewer at night).

So yes, I expect there were "other planes" nearby.

"A murder from another aircraft"? where did that suggestion come from?

As peculiar as the situation is, I can't help but feel saddened that the individual was at that point of desperation to feel it necessary to do something so dangerous.
Exactly my thoughts too. How desperate does one have to be in order to take such a high risk.
These things never end well.

I'm sitting here with zero sympathy at the idiot who tried this, and laughing at the fragile idiots in this thread with their faux moral outrage.

Or perhaps someone looking for the "streets paved in gold" and an easy life in our black economy of course... Or he may have been a criminal evading prison. Steady indeed. All we know so far is he attempted entry illegally and messed up someone's back garden.

Exactly, he was already breaking the law coming into the country and I have no faith what-so-ever that he would a law binding citizen once he was in. Most illigels continue to break the law once they come in, even the most benign work in the black market jobs and avoid tax when paid.

I'm a bit confused.. Has someone hijacked diddums' account? He's always been a good guy that's seen the funny side of things in my experience!?

No offence dude but at an individual level, stupid people will stupid.

Well Durr, obviously illegal immigrants aren't going to be paying tax!

Plausible, right? We have no conclusive evidence like a video or multiple independent eyewitnesses.

Theoretically someone could get away with dropping a non-national from an aircraft for whatever impromptu reason and then lay the blame on a nearby international flight calling it a stowaway tradegy.

...it's for a book in writing...

I am also sure a male body wedged in the landing gear of a jet airliner is not something likely considered at the design stage, a plane designer's lot is not an easy one at the best of times these days ;)
What is wrong with you

Get therapy.

Get real, why do 1000's travel across Europe, whos more accepting to them to try to get inside the UK. Because Labour in the 90's went out and told everyone that we're a rich country waiting for them with open arms.

I abhor illegal immigration, I find the idea of one clambering around the mechanics, hydraulics and electrical system of a commercial passenger jet in flight very concerning, as I do the ease with which he seems to have got himself there, and when their frigid corpse lands in an innocent Londoner's back garden from several thousand feet aloft I feel my concern as to how this all transpired is justified.

@Acme Either Chris is trolling, or monumentally heartless.

Legit story: a friend of mine went to Kenya some years ago to work in a rural school for a few months. This was a place where the children had never seen a white person before, in the flesh at least.

She took some photos of home to show people. She showed the headmaster of the school a picture of her family outside her house. Looking at the photo, he asked, as a genuine question: “where do you keep your cows?”. Then it boggled his mind that her family did not own any cows.

That’s the headmaster of a school. Let that sink in.

So maybe the dangers of being at a high altitude aren’t immediately obvious to people so mind meltingly deprived... and desperate?

Oh, no, my bad... he was here to ruin your lives, the selfish ass. How greedy of him

I find it incredibly bleak that people are evidently bemused that someone would be so ignorant to do something this dangerous.

At least you lot are in the privileged position to know better.

How ******* desperate would you have to be to try this? Have a heart, jesus ******* christ.
I suppose that very much depends on how aware he was of the potential consequences.

It's conceivable that he had no idea the air isn't breathable at cruising altitude, or that the temp can get as low as -68C. I didn't know the latter until 5 mins ago!

It's fair to imagine that if people knew most stowaways ended up dead, they probably wouldn't bother.

Again, as for desperation... one stowaway boarded an internal fight in the USA. He went from California to Hawaii. Desperation or just plain ignorance? Nor sure California is all that bad, tbh!

I think to assume that they knew the risks and were attempting escape from some nightmare existence is probably just that.. an assumption.

The desperation to do that is quite sad, I can imagine seeing a dead body in that state is going to take some toll on the resident and neighbour who viewed it, possibly even those who came to clean up as I’d imagine it would be a first for them.

He's the one who should be felt sorry for law abiding citizen out in his garden minding his own business enjoying a bit of sun and is nearly killed by an illegal immigrant falling out of the skies!

So you reckon it was this headmaster then? The photos must have really impressed him..... ;)
