So, We have southern and eastern Europe apparently melting with the most savage heatwave for over 40 years (I remember the mid 70's one)

And yet,

On Saturday night I was cold!

I am no wuss when it comes to this sort of thing, I work outside all the year round and will (To the great amusement of my customers) happily wear shorts throughout the winter, snow whatever...

But on Saturday I actually lit a fire....:/

Anybody else confess to putting the heating on over the last couple of days?? :p

I was working into the early hours of the morning on exposed ground Saturday night/Sunday morning and coming out of work into the night air by no exaggeration it wasn't far off being frosty.

This was down in the South West as well.

Massive high of 15 degrees forecast for here tomorrow.
It seems in recent years we'll get some lovely weather around May/June then July/August are a total washout then the nice weather returns for September/October.

Last year middle of August was so hot that the festival I was at ended up with 80 cars destroyed in a blaze because someone dropped a fag end onto one of the parking fields' dried grass.

Temperature never reaching the 20s and constant rain for the last month here in Edinburgh.

I've certainly not had the heating on though.

I did turn the heating on Saturday evening for an hour, but partly my fault for leaving the back door open. Does seem to be getting a little chillier some evenings!

I like summer here so far.

Hottest pushed high 20s, usual is 20ish.

Soon be minus 20 pushing minus 30......
Winter is coming..

UK weather sucks now. Hardly have a summer or a winter.
It's just wet and cold most of the year

It's going to pick up towards the end of august. I prefer the warmer weather to be in September and October. It makes trips to football far more enjoyable.

Felt the urge to close the mancave window for the first time in months yesterday, but opened it again this afternoon.

But generally speaking speaking, we've had ~6 weeks of "meh" weather in Southampton since the final week or so in June. It sucks so much, I've had my SAD symptoms starting up very early, such as struggling to wake naturally before ~0630 and feeling wooly all day (unless I force myself out of the house for a bike ride).

you know it's going to get worst .. we are returning to the weather of the early 70's cold cold and dam cold .. that's if we are lucky ..
if not well read up on "a summer without a sun" and if the gulf stream turns just move to Australia ..

Forecast for the month ahead looks interesting - lots of rain predicted for 8-10th August then 10-11th drops to almost winter weather before a jump up to temperatures in the 20s a couple of days after that rising slightly through the rest of the month but with indications of unsettled weather.
