It's too hot...

The amount of people confusing heat for humidity astounds me.

I agree - I mentioned that it was 85 degrees (29C) in the office right now, but because the air conditioning is on the heat is actually quite comfortable. IMO you've not experienced humidity until you've been to a jungle (sorry - worst I've been somewhere exotic post ever). It was actually quite cool in the jungle when I arrived early morning - 25C and everywhere was in the shade. Within 10 minutes though I was sweating profusely and my clothes were all damp.

I don't see why everyone is moaning,

Its summer and in England we hardly ever have it, and it makes a change for some sun and heat.

Because some people are not bothered about warm weather? :p At least if you are cold you can warm up, not so easy other way around!

I love autumn/winter so can't wait for that. It's a nice 16c here in Norway today with rain, thunder and lightning so it's all good :)

True but you could always jump into an ice cold bath to cool down :p

It's the same temperature as it is every other day of the year here in my air conditioned office. :p

where?

(57.8°C) in Al 'Aziziyah, Libya, on September 13, 1922 is the highest recorded temperature....
Measurements of MODIS (Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) installed on NASA's satellite "Aqua" from 2003 - 2005 testify that the hottest land surface on Earth is located in Dasht-e Lut and land surface temperatures reach here 70.7 degrees C (159 degrees F). Precision of measurements is 0.5 - 1 degrees K.

The hottest part of Dasht-e Lut is Gandom Beryan - approximately 480 km² large plateau covered with dark lava. According to local legend this name (in translation from Persian - "Toasted wheat") originates from an accident where load of wheat left in the desert was scorched by the heat in a few days time.

more info here http://www.wondermondo.com/Countries/As/Iran/Kerman/GandomBeryan.htm
There are several contenders for the title "The hottest place on Earth" but Gandom Beryan in Lut Desert, Kerman province is one of the few where this is proven with scientific methods.

the libya place has the hottest suposed air temprature though ;) but hottest place on earth surely includes the temprature of the actual earth you touch? :P

Was lovely yesterday, managed to get a t-shirt tan though while cleaning my garage. It's lovely again today, the only thing I dislike about this weather is that my dog has to spend time on his own in the house during the morning, then after lunch after I've been to see him.
