It's too hot :(

Might get toasty again for mostly England in a couple of weeks...

One of the things thats most annoying about heat in the UK is how late it tends to be when the heat finally arrives. I had to work in North Cyprus the other month and it can get really hot there (most days it peaked at around 35-37) - but it's hottest during 12-2pm, absolutely scorching at those times - so you just avoid being out at those timesand by the time the early evening rolls around it's starting to get cooler.

Here, we tend to wait until 4pm before it finally gets hot then it doesn't cool down until about 7pm!

It was nearly 28c when I went to bed last night. Woke up to a wet pillow where I had been sweating. Not the best night. Cloudy with a few spots of rain this morning. Hoping the temperature goes down a good bit today.
Amazed you got any sleep at all like that, I couldn't. Left the aircon running until bedtime then left a desk fan blowing over me during the night which makes a noise but not as much as the aircon which could wake the dead. Anyway thats just enough to make sleeping possible

Dangit! The rain has stopped and it was more a drizzle (much needed one albeit) than an actual rain fall. Air is starting to clog again, but at elast the temp has come down a bit. Not sure how this will play later in the day if that was all though... :(
Had one shower lasted a minute and it was done and that was that. Authorities are seriously worried about wildfires breaking out its dryer than a tinderbox in a desert

summers already over, see you again next year for another week of global warming madness and dark red maps
A week? had about 2-3 days of rain since March in Rutland/Leicestershire. Grass looks like cardboard and you need a jack hammer to dig a weed out

I had my pedestal fan on all night which helped a little, but not as much as the midweek beers :D.

Last night was much better, no sweat, and the proceeding day was cooler air outside which helped cool inside as well.
Today far more pleasant at the moment with room temp at 24.3C.
I have also never seen relative humidity so low.

Already back to wearing a jacket here. Crazy how quickly these heatwaves end if you're above Birmingham. Briefly touched 9c early this morning! Brrrr.

Spring '25 has still been the better summer season so far. :p That 3 week stretch was incredible.

14 degrees here now but I will be in my shorts until 5 degrees, the brilliance of living in Fife. Currently working in my garden room where I added a air source heat pump last year, was my best purchase in the last few years as using the air con is amazing for the 2 days a year I need it and heating for the rest of the year.

Looks like another potential hot spell on the way next weekend.
Doesn't look like a heatwave though, just warm sunny days and cooler nights. For us it's showing potentially 25/26 peaks in the day - but down to 14/15 at night. As long as it's cool by the evening that's ok in my book...

Looking hotter near London though. 28-32C for a good week at least. I’ll probably escape to the coast where it looks to be low 20s. Still very little rain on the forecast. Even some of the trees around us seem to be struggling.
