It's too hot :(

I ended up sleeping on the living room floor.
Bedroom was far too hot.

Really fancy an AC unit now. Have to look for since installers in Manchester for next year.

We went with a professional aircon install for the house back in March when there wasn’t a waiting list and increased prices because everyone wants it fitted last week. A split inverter system with 3 units. Right now, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent and will also heat in the winter.

We haven’t even changed the high tog duvet - it’s blissful. kitchen/living around is currently a cool 19c
How much did that cost to install and whats your electricity bill saying?

Worse nights sleep ever :( must have managed 30 mins tops i would have slept outside if i had a garden :p windows wide open the indoor temps has dropped thankfully 4 degrees in 6 hours too a more bearable 26c
The thermal insulation in this house is "too" good. It dropped an entirety of 1.4 degree on the ground floor from 29.5c @ 2200 to 28.1c @ 0545 at which point I opened all the ground floor windows and doors. Two hours later, it's 27.4c in main reception room but already up to 28.5c in my home office. Gah ....

Slept with the fan on last night which is comfortable enough, got up just before 6am and moved outside the airflow of the fan and it was like walking into a wall of heat and humidity. I was actually happy to get into the air conditioned office this morning.

Managed without a fan in the bedroom so far... just keeping all windows/blinds closed during the daytime, cracking all windows open as soon as we get home to bring the temps down as much as possible (lights out where we can to avoid filling the house with bugs!)... then sleep completely sans duvet with windows open overnight... The king-size bed we bought earlier in the year has been a godsend compared to last year - it's surprising how effectively two bodies that are too close to each other affect the temperature overnight!!!

I slept like a log :D No air con and it was hot here, 30degC in the bedroom at bedtime.

I have learnt that if I wedge such the bedroom door, thus sealing the bedroom, open both windows and have a fan blowing out of the small window, we get a nice cooling draught across the bed - even when outside it's the same temps. The mrs doesn't deal with heat well but that solved the issue for her too.

Then this morning - open up everything to make the most of the cooling.

Forecast showed thunder for 5pm, that then changed to 8pm, then it changed to 12am, come 2am just a small shower. Thank god today is a lot cooler, didn't get any sleep last night.

Rubbish nights sleep yet again. I think i've managed about 9 hours the last three nights.

Outdoor temp is currently 22.2C while bedroom is still 31.8C. Know any good ways to cool a house down once the heat gets in? My idea of freezing cold water in the radiator system was vetoed.

Much cooler last night but in late afternoon my living room hit 30c. Humidity isn't too bad.
