It's too hot :(

Vitamin d deficiency can be extremely harmful and shouldn't be ignored, even in otherwise healthy people.
so you take a pill and your good. most people even without a pill are good in the winter.
we just forget to go outside, it dosent have to be 35c to make VitaminC

and you can get sunburn at -20c

After last year I wouldn't want one day of 30c , my building isnt designed for that kind of temperature, even 20c is pushing it

I understand people moaning about the constant rain , but temp wise 18c-20c is fine
Its the same here the public buildings where I work were built in the 70s and 80's and simply aren't designed to cope with excessive heat they just boil when the the temperatures rise they've only just reached a comfortable level after June's heat they're like storage heaters they just soak it up

I've just seen Saturday's forecast. Is this for real??! 11c in August. :(

I don't remember a single year in the past I've just left the duvet on my bed right through July and more nights than not slept under it.

Lows of 9C forecast overnight here the next couple of days and probably will drop below that slightly.

Met Office wind warning for tomorrow for a lot of southern England and Wales, gusts of ~30mph forecast here through the day here, reaching a max of ~40mph near 1900 and a high of "feels like 14C."

Another wet day too, but looks like things are finally going to get drier and warmer through next week.

Yep. I take a pill and I'm good. Even though I'm quite pale I'm in the group of Caucasians that simply don't build up enough during summer to maintain safe levels throughout winter. This group is larger than you might imagine in countries like the UK.

I never said it needed to be hot to maintain vitamin d levels? You just need exposure to UVB rays, and preferably on more exposed skin than just your arms and head.

Yeah UV rays still penetrate through cloud cover

Yep. The biggest problem is that UVB rays aren't present throughout half the year in amounts necessary for some people to maintain required vitamin d levels. If I lived somewhere like Portugal I'd probably have a better chance of not needing supplements.

Do you still get given them for free off the NHS like they did during the heights of covid?
Nope, but they're cheap enough, under £10 for a years supply. I think they were handed out during covid due to having to stay in and them being worried about people in flats etc not getting enough sun.
