It's too hot :(

Its way too hot for this country.

3:30 am and its 20c, will try and fight the night and try to sleep soon.

Its ok when you on holiday as you can have a dip in the pool or sea but here its a nightmare. :(

Have a cold shower before bed can work a treat.

Also if you have a load of those freezer packs, wrap them in a towel and stick them in bed about half an hour before you plan on going to sleep.

The heat doesn't bother me so much during the day, it's at night when the suns down and bedrooms are still not cooling down.

No, that's actually my entire point. It wouldn't class as an emergency.
Yes it would the distinction is reporting a crime in progress versus reporting a crime that is not in progress or something that is not a crime. It's the fact it's in progress/ongoing that makes it an emergency, it even explains that.

No it's been a crime since 1980 and a multiple crime since 1990.
really? the gov.uk website seems to disagree

Did you even read past the first sentence of that? It clearly points out that you're not allowed to burn waste near other houses or have a fire anywhere near a road (though sadly neglects to point out they're crimes and a police matter).

Seriously dude I'm not making up the laws, I've reported dozens of illegal fires over the years and never once had the police ask me to call back late ron 101, they always send an officer out ASAP to put a stop to it.

What a complete waste of police time. Wow. Sorry, couldn't attend the serious assault or house break-in, I was attending a garden fire. I have no words.

What crime is it?
It's a criminal offence under the Highways Act 1980 (allowing smoke to cross a road and effect/endanger drivers) and the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (dispose of domestic waste in a manner which is likely to cause pollution or harm to human health).

If it was a waste of their time I'm sure they would have commented as such, however the officers round here thankfully treat crime as something important :p

i never said you are making them up. but i will say you are misinterpreting them.

the post below asks is it a crime to light a fire.....
lighting a fire is a crime now? HAHA

you replied

which is incorrect as it is not a crime to light a fire.

This is a weird one but I will try and phrase it as well as I can. My answer to his question was indeed incorrect, but it was deliberately incorrect because his question was also deliberately incorrect in order to try and mock the subject he was asking about. While incorrect my reply did correctly address his point.

I hope that makes at least some sense lol.

Phoning 999 because of a small garden fire, just lol. A complete waste of time for an already stretched police force.
Like I said if the police (and fire service, they have to attend too) thought it was a waste of their time and not a legitimate part of their job/role they would probably have mentioned it by now instead of often giving their thanks lol.

jesus you're one of those......you'll twist and bend it any way you can to make your point seem correct. the simple fact was that your answer to the question was incorrect. i'll go out on a limb and suggest that you use those same verbal gymnastic skills when reporting these illegal fires so that the police have no option but to send someone out........in other words you exagerate. well done you. keep wasting police time to make yourself feel important.

That doesn't mean it isn't a waste of their time when they are stretched. If it is a legal requirement then they have to deal with it and smile, but that doesn't make it right.
